I had to trade the '99 for this, but it was worth it. I had always told myself that I would run the '99 into the ground, but they made too many improvements and I wanted the 6 speed. Now I don't have to pay any attention to the transmission wars!!

I'm not used to the 4:10's in the rear. At 70mph I'm at about 2300rpm or so. My '99 had 3:73's and 33 inch tires and would cruise at 1950rpm at 74mph. Kind of seems like I'm winding the new Cummins out a little.

Pretty truck. I had a red GMC so the wife thought a different color would be good. I like the silver but red sure looks good. And, the German shorthair---- Made me kind of misty eyed. My best friend for 13 years when I was a kid. Best dog I've ever owned. He was almost human. And, he could hunt quail and had never had training. In his later years, he would see the gun case and get the shivers. I had to lift him into the truck and he was good for about 30 minutes of hunting. He'd go down and I'd have to carry him back to the truck. By the time we got back, he was ready to go, again.

I turn 2,300 rpms at 75 mph with the 3. 73 rear end. I'll buy some bigger tires when the factory BFG's wear out.
