Chev. lost me the same way Dodge is loosing you guys. Around here the dealers can be the typical dealers, but for the most part when you show them your not taking the B??##, they'll straighten up and talk straight with you. I think if they can find the one sucker then they will make a killing! Anyway, had to through my 2c in.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. . that really sucks.

I'm not trying to stir up the pot, but there's one thing that doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe you could clear it up.

You were trading in your 2000 3500 due to the fact that your truck couldn't handle your new 14000lb trailer. What is the difference between this 3500, then the "New" 3500 or even the Ford F350? Aren't they all 1 tons? Why was your 2000 not able to handle the trailer. . I don't undersand.

2000 was an automatic therefore not a HD engine. I need hump and a manual to pull that thing also I need a 4. 1 rear. My F350 will pull it with simple modifications. Also one big thing was the fact that I wanted 4 doors due to the fact that I always have 3 other people with me. My 2000 was a quadcab but the rear compartment was too small. The 2003 was everything I wanted in a truck. 4 doors with a little bit more space, HD engine with manual, 4. 10 and under warranty in case the trailer was going to beat on it. Hope this clears your confusions.

As for everyone else, thank you again for the great words. I can't believe how many people backed me up on my decision. Maybe in a few years if Dodge comes up with a 5500 I'll switch back and shop for dealers first.

No prob Paesan,

I wasn't questioning you... guess I was confused on what the "new 3500" had over your 2k in which your 2k couldn't handle the job.

Good luck with the new truck...

I was just curious, how much better was your trade at the Ford dealer over the Dodge dealers offer? There was a time when the Ford guys would not move on their trucks because they were selling so well. I know a couple of guys that ended up with the Dodge Cummins for that reason.

Ford gave me 19700 for my trade in. That's 9700 more than Dodge. I had the two fender scratched and broken and some rust in the back. They didn't say anything about the engine.

As for the engine under warranty at the time I purchased there was no 7/100 or 7/70. Also they said that I abused the vehicle by bringing the truck for oil change 4000 miles late.

Long story short they were finding every asswipe excuses to lower my trade in value.

They are using the truck now to give demo runs and are selling it at MSRP.

Thats typical of them to want more money for the new year model. You need to have your new Ford dealer send them a thank you card for the business.

That happened to me once when I was looking at one year model and that same week the new year models hit the lot and I decided I wanted one of the those. Suddenly my trade went down. I walked out of that deal and went to another dealership and all went well.

Hmmm.

I wonder if you would have traded your truck, would they tell me everything that is supposedly wrong with it they told you about if I tried to buy it. Naaaa!

Good luck with your new truck.
