Two weeks ago I installed the rear brake upgrade package from EGR. The components installed were the Kevlar shoes and the larger 1 1/16" rear wheel cylinders. When I called and ordered the package, Glen stated that the rear cylinders were made especially EGR. When the boxes arrived, I noticed that the rear wheel cylinders came in two different boxes and were made by different manufacturers. They even have different sizes for the bleeders screws. I called Glen back and he said that they buy them from different sources and that is was I had two different cylinders although they were the same size internally. Here is a note if anyone wants to do this mod themselves on a dually, get a service manual as there are no instructions on how to install the brake shoes. I have done many brake jobs in my life and I have never seen hold pins like these. What a pain the re-install!!!!! After installing the setup and reusing an old bleeder screw so all 4 wheels could be bled with the same size wrench, I bled the brakes using synthetic DOT 4 brake fluid and took the truck for a test drive. I performed the break in proceedure by the book and to be honest, I cannot tell any difference from stock. I think the $250. 00 (plus) spent for this setup would be better used for saving for an exhaust brake. It may seem trival to complain about different wheel cylinders, but when I spend $$$ and get a mix'n'match parts package, it kinda worries me. This is my opinion only on this particular setup. If anyone wants the part numbers for the rear wheel cylinders, give me a PM, that way you can buy them locally and get the "lifetime" warranty.
