As Jim stated, it isn't very difficult. The instructions that Piers sends is very clear and tells you exactly what tools you will need. The instructions say about 1. 5 hours for a first timer. It took me a little longer since I did the gov lever adjustment and decided to push my plate forward. The turbo installation that was done a couple days earlier lowered the EGTs by about 150 degrees so decided to move the plate to see if I could get into trouble again. The GSK consists of 2 bottom seats and 4 springs... 1 & 2 for each side. The stock springs will have 2 bottom seats and 3 springs and 1 shim on each side. (At least in my case and instructions don't tell you how many to look for. ) Make sure you pull them all out. Only thing you will save is the top seat and retainer nut. Like I said earlier... don't wait... go ahead and do it, even for stock trucks. Someone stated that the GSK, after gauges, is the #1 bomb and now I can understand why.
Slybones,
I posted results of the PDR turbo on an earlier thread in the Products section, but installation of the turbo was easy, no stuck bolts or nuts. EGTs dropped dropped 150 degrees just as Piers stated, and my max boost is now 40, up from 34 on the stock turbo. Low end was about the same as stock... better now with the GSK, and mid range much stronger and top end quite a bit stronger. The PDR HX35 is a great turbo for us medium hp guys who tow a lot.
