Don't be too sure. Lawrence has said he wants to take his to the track well before MM02 so if it scatters, we have time to put it back together (hey, things happen at 700hp).

Marks' truck is definitely going back, and soon. Next TNT is March 9th here, but I don't know if we'll have anything changed by then (93% lockup TC, move 3-4 shift point, possibly different turbo - all in the name of R&D :D )

Jim,

A diet. :( I am in the process of ordering new tires for the truck (40inch) although my dad might blow a wing nut over it. Plus 4' more lift. Gotta have fun right. :D I weighed the truck again today and it was 7980lbs with me in it, it has changed between 7925 to 7995 between 4 different scales. I also found a guy that sold g-tecs 2 minutes from the shop so we went for a boot and it said 13. 03 @ 102. I think the mile per hour was really good because of the tall tires and the Hx40. :D I know they aren't the most accurate in the world, but it's a good base line. Plus I haven't messed with the NOS jetting at all since Tacoma, so I know there is a lot more in it. Now I am baggin' my dad for his new hurricane transmission as he said that I or anybody for that matter will never be able to make the power to hurt it. Got to prove him wrong. :D Just everytime I try I end up leaving with a look on my face like this :( . What do you think keith can we do it? He said that he's done his part now it's the power guys turn. Let's rock. :D :D :D

keith i'm glad there lettting you use the trucks for fun i mean r&d. at 700hp stuff will break, it's not if, it's when. is lawerence going to let you drive at the track? i remember the look on his face in pahrump when he was dynoing on the drugs you could tell he was pretty nervous. now you will just have to con mark into letting you sled pull with his truck at mm.

stefan

that mph is pretty good considering everything. you just keep raising that thing so that you can't race me at the track;) i buy a new truck with a auto so i can race you, and then you make it so that you can't race. :D we can always street race.

i'm glad to hear that the old man got done with the new transmission. so are you going to use your get out of jail free card for that one? or are you still waiting. if lawerence will be racing his truck at the track this year it sounds like you have a good test mule for it.

jim

Hey Stefan... you hear that? Ship me a trans for Lawrences' truck. :D

Jim, Lawrence will drive his own truck I'm sure. I will still likely drive Marks.

Lawrence was upset at the dyno in December because he knew right off it didn't have the punch it had on Friday when it went 705hp.

Oh well, there's always next time.

Stefan, we're going to weigh Marks' truck today. I'll let you know.

Another cool thing I have noticed is on these cold mornings my oem transmission took forever to get going. Not now. Start it, drop it in gear and go.

Hey Stephan

Whats this about a new trans? I cant kill the one I have from your old man as it is. Been trying & trying & trying, sure hope my warranty still sticks when I blow the whole back half off damn thing. Well you know its all stock right... ? >>> Funny thing about my "reputal business parking lot", seems to have permanent black posi marks for about 80ft before I hit the gate. Gotta stop sometime though. The new trans guys ---Welcome ----undoughtable you will have a little battle w/ this site because of the tried & true such as DTT. Welcome never the less. Oh' Yeh,,,,Can we git Bill back in his zone /or what????-------------Proflow

i take info from guys with sponsorship with a grain of salt ...

i find it amusing about all this sponsorship going around and ... donning the flame retardant suit ... CREDABILITY ... .

sorry , but the way i see it , its a double edged sword . yes the company needs test mules in the field because its to costly to have a fleet of test mules , but giving out free products in the name of testimonials is , well ... can't think of a PC term ...

if guy a has a trans from company A and he is having no problems , great . tell the world all is great in eden , but if guy A can't keep the product in 1 piece to the end of his driveway , is having a hard time getting the repair parts in a timely fashion , or is constantly having to replace things , company A still expects rave reviews and no negative press because he is getting thousands of dollars in product for free , if guy A bad mouths company A's product , the flow of free parts stops and guy a sits with a down vehicle and has to pay to get it going again . so to keep the parts flowing guy A gives stellar testimonials , whines to a few buddies and will deny any problems in public for fear of the well running dry .

disclaimer , there is no similarity of guy A or company A to anyone living or dead , present or past TDR members ... :D :D ... thats my story and i'm sticking to it .

maybe i'm wrong , but thats the way i see it , why would someone keep giving you parts if you are breaking their stuff and telling the world about it ????

fire away :-{}

Well the TDR shot it's self in the foot on this issue and the boards will suffer the lose :(

great point

Mopar-Muscle,

That's a great point and that's why I am not an ambassador of ATS. Just a test mule. I have zero experience with automatic transmissions and I like it that way. Am I grateful for them establishing this relationship with me? Yepper, but it's for them to learn and provide better parts for their customers. I also don't think that the customer service part is an issue with me. All of the testimaonials need to come from John Q. Public. I am here simply to keep ATS working on their products. I expect Don and Clint to provide the buying public with better service because I am not just that; a paying customer. If they do not, rest assured that the TDR will let you know.

A point of clarification - Bill Kondolay is encouraged to participate in automatic transmission threads as well as any others on the site consistent with the forum guidelines.

Who told you Bill K has been banned from commenting on transmission threads?

Re: i take info from guys with sponsorship with a grain of salt ...

mm

you have a point.

all i can say is that i'm using bd's transmission to find it's weak links, so that the average person doesn't. there is nothing special in my transmission from bd, it is a off the shelf race transmission. anyone can call up and order this transmission.

that makes me feel better about promoting a product that is not a 1 off transmission. even the convertor is a off the shelf unit.

anyone that know's me and it's quite a few of you guys, knows that i'm a straight shooter. i will break this transmission it is my mission! and i will be honest when it breaks. but just becuase it breaks doesn't mean it's a pos. it means that i'm pushing the limits of the whole setup not just the transmission. i will most likely lose a transfer case also, does that means it sucks. no it means that i'm abusing thje crap out it.

i hope to get a full year of sled pulling and drag racing and don't forget towing crazy heavy loads with this transmission. the more i abuse this transmission the more i can't beleive that i ever bought a stick. these things can be made tuff!!

i remember adam breaking a 5 spd every month or so and his bd transmission is holding up way better than that tough standard.

MM, you have a valid point and hopefully the guys that are being sponsored are going to be straight with us.

Adding to this there are some people on here that profit from one company or another and extol the virtues of this company or that company or one person over everyone else. We expect this of vendors, but there are some that could fall into this category that are not vendors per se and are not open about it. That is dishonest. I see some vendors not getting a fair trial, and that is wrong. The people I am talking about know who they are, and I am not going to name anyone. I would just like them to rethink what they are doing and conduct themselves with some integrity.

Does anyone have a spare flame suit? I think I am gonna need one.

FYI.

I paid cash for my transmission just like anyone else! I am not sponserd nor am I looking to be. If something goes wrong I will post it here on the TDR. I will say that I will be going back to have my 2-3 shift point raised, since I drive in stop and go traffic all day. They are going out of thier way to accomadate(sp?) my needs and my schedule. Other than that the transmission has been flawless. I have nothing but good things to say about thier products and thier services.
