I was given an estimate of $340 for replacing BOTH top and bottom..... The parts cost $214 so the labor isn't that bad... .....



I have 219,000 on her and haven't touched the ball joints - is this a good $$$$
 
I just did mine. I picked them up at NAPA and it was less than 200 for both sets. I put them in myself, it wasn't too hard, but there is a 12 ton press in my future... :-laf That labor doesn't sound too bad though.
 
I did all 4 of mine as well and rented the puller for under $200.



The price does not sound too bad for a shop doing the work.



I would insist on MOOG parts though.

$214 sounds very high for just the parts. I recently rebuilt the entire front end with MOOG parts for about 450. 00 (don't remember the exact number). Ball joints, tie rods, track bar, steering stabilizer...
