Some JB Weld Please...

Merry Christmas from Shell Oil

We were out with friends 60 or so cows come by and he shot a cow at about 130 yds with a . 243 right through heart/ lungs. It was a good shot. I am so proud I could just burst. He is 13years old and a great kid. It was a blast.

Good job!

Who gets to dress it out?;)

Had to wait for a herd of around 75 crossed before I could turn into my drive Sat.

They say the herd in the Bitterroot is 2000 more than normal this year.

Congrats!

That's great! It's good to see the family out hunting.

I took my 8 year old son prarie dog shooting east of Miles City this year. You couldn't wipe the smile off his face with a belt sander! :) :) :)

Its been a great year. I got my two cows my son got his first one and his second tag is good for another 3 weeks. I heard a biologist say there was a few two many, thats why we got a chance at a second tag.

That's cool! Tell him Congratulations. And that goes for both of you. Now get one for me, since we don't have them here. Good luck.

Congrats. . I miss hunting with my Son [still not to late, but life just keep getting in the way]

Now since you have so much Elk... . you need several big cases of dri ice and some of our addresses LOL Elk = worlds greatest eating IMHO

I'll take some back straps. What day should we come for a Dodge gathering? Talking trucks and good eats, can't get any better than that, unless it's "MORE POWER" :D :D

Backstraps,Beer & Bombs. :D

congrats on the first elk.

my wife shot her first bull (5X5) on friday (14th) near leadore with a 270. we made a great sneak and she made a perfect 120yd broadside shot. i dont know who was more excited, sure was an awesome experience. :D :D :D

Wait a minute!

Hold on here. I have been told by many that my . 270 ain't big enough for elk. I'd check that elk over carefully. No way a little . 243 killed it. It's playing possum!!! :)

If the trip comes together, me and the . 270 are going after an elk next fall. It will be loaded up with the deadly Nosler 160 grain Partition bullet.

Was at the range today shooting some off the bench. For you . 22 Hornet shooters that haven't tried Hodgdon Lil' Gun yet, you're missing something.

2-5 shot groups @100 yds with Lil' Gun and Hornady 35 gr Vmax bullets.

the backstraps have landed

my brother shot his moose yesterday, sunday(16th), nice bull, 45" spread, good spoons and LOTS of meat.

Congrats on the harvest there, CASEY VELTKAMP. I had a good time this year hunting north of Rifle CO. Had some good chances and lots of evidence around our camp, but not as lucky as you. The CTD did great in the snow but will invest in some chains soon as it was snowing like h#!! where we were.

I feel sorry for those gun control advocates that just don't understand... even though we did not kill, the hiking, the adventure and the scenery were all worth it-- even without a carcass. Folks, this is what our forefather did to survive. I kept thinking during the outing about those who made this coutry what it is today and wondered constantly how they could have possibly passed the terrain I hiked with nothing more than a bunch of horses and a wagon or two... How they did it was though a quest and spirit in search of a better life. We cannot thank the early, nameless pioneers who did tread this land before us. Gawd, they had to be hearty!

Sorry if I got off track, but it did my heart good just to be out there.

Congratulations again! -frank.

Some guy 20 miles from here got his first elk too. I'm in INDIANA. He killed it and taggd it and checked it in. They counted it as a deer. Aparently a local elk farm had lost one, and he found it. I dont know the number of points, but it is supposed to have a 5' spread on it.

AWSOME!!! I've tried for elf all over the bitterrot without any luck!! I guess I just don't have the knack, but look out mule deer!! once again, nice job!!

Way to go guys!!!! My husband and I went out deer hunting this season and so far have not gotten a thing but sure did see a lot of beautiful country. I agree most anti-gun (anti-hunters) just do not understand the joy one gets from just being out in the woods. A few years ago we went elk hunting and had a wonderful time. Next year I am sending my husband to Colorado to go elk hunting with his brother. I hope he gets one and has fun.

To all the hunters who take their kids out hunting: WAY TO GO!!! We need more folks like you introducing the younger generation to their heritage.

Dawna:D

My daughter took hunter safety this year and she will be ready to go next season. She was with me when I shot my first cow this year. This season has been a blast we have seen more elk, just a great season. Time out doors with the kids is a great time.
