Man it's scary that GM would do something like that. I hope Cummins doesn't start doing this any time soon.



Actually, its a good method to ensure each cylinder is getting the same amount of fuel.

I bet its caused to programmer people a few fits though - one more data input that they need to comp for.
 
I think properly balanced injectors are a much better way to go.

all the electronically balanced injectors are balanced mechanically also, but only to a tolerance that can be mass produced. the electronic code allows you to fine tune it. slight changes within the injector body [port sizes, viscous sealing, spring tension, coil resistance and reaction time] can all be compensated for with the injector coding.
