My Tax Rebate Will Be Donated

I got my check in the mail yesterday for $600. 00, it was going to go toward a new DOR Bumper or one like it. I will be donateing it for the attacks. Can I afford to do this?? Not really, but to me this $600. 00 was a "bonus" if you can call it that, it was income that I never planned on having. My Bumper can wait a bit longer.

That a noble jesture but I can't do that. See, my government has no record of me paying the $1496. 00 this year. That is going all year with 0 deductions. Thing is, we have the cancelled from the treasury dept. and when I call I get a recording. The real government at work. Incompitent to say the lest. The $600 is applyed to my dept.



Terroist at work in NY and at the IRS. ... Life goes on...

We received our check last month and I was thinking the same thing, just send it back and tell them where to send the "proceeds".

Nope, but a couple 50 cal rounds to an engine sure puts a hurt on things I've done it! They fall pretty quick.

I think that is a wonderful idea... . I won't be able to give that much, but I will give what I can. You might think about giving it to the families of the firemen. I know that they are starting an account for them and as a fireman, I am glad to know that if anything every happened to me that my family might be looked after by others. I do have life insureance, but it is never enough. These people had there lives turned upside down when there spouses tried to save the lives of those people in trouble. I think it is the least we can do to help take care of them now!!



I am also going to try to go back and go to the funeral. I was going to try to work for an engine or truck company back there while they went to the funeral, but I guess they have volenteers and retirees that are taking care of that.

I think my check will be buying a big, at least 35 foot flag pole for the new compound. I think by the time Congress gets done pouring money into this tragedy, that all those missing loved ones will be heavily compensated monetarily for their losses... and rightfully so. I would like to think my tax $$$ is going to this, not buying staples or pencils for some white house intern. The more they give to these people the better I say.



Did anyone see the Queen of England with the Royal Marines, stop her Royal band from playing their National Anthem when she came out, and instructed them to play OUR Nation Anthem in front God and Everyone with the Stars and Stripes standing tall? This may not sound like too big of a deal, but I believe that is the first time our song has been played when the Queen walked out to do her speech. It would be like the Marine Band hoisting up the Union Jack and playing their National Anthem for Bush instead of Hail to the Chief. Very motivating.
