I was in nevada county on forest rd 29 @ omega rd, near the city of washington. when an uninsured guy in a dodge colt hit my left front tire at about 30 miles an hour.

I know my steering and possably the steering box is gone,my upper and lower control arms are pretzels and the driveline spidered my t-case. it shoved my tire into the fender and messed that up. other than that i will here if there was more damage.

Has anyone else had someone hit there front tire like that and what did they find wrong.

A brother in distress!!!. I had to rent a ford f-150 to get all my belongings home. that was a horrable experience.

Sorry to hear that you had to use a ford. Driving another rig can sure make you thankful for what you have. I had to listen to someone in my house wine when she had to drive a ford. The TDI jetta was in the shop.

Kinda gets you right in the heart when your wife has a fit from driving a gasser.

That sucks!!! Thank God you weren't hurt! That's the most inportant thing! I don't know of any one who has been hit in that same manner, but I have to agree with you that more than likely, your entire front end, axle, and steering are gone. As long as the frame wasn't damaged severly she should be able to be reparied. Keep us posted!!!!

yes i will keep posted on this thread. it might be interesting to find out what kind of dammage can occur from a hit like this. should the dirtbag who ran into me,would have hit me from the front he would have had a reunel bumper sandwich. and might have had some good injuries.

what were you doing on rd 29?I live in that area there are a lot of losers that speed down the road drunk afew of my freinds have been hit in the same area. Did the guy stop. I hope you got a peice of his ass.

I'm sorry to hear what happened, but i'm glad to hear you are alright. my friend had a similar accident with his '93 S-10. it bent up both control arms and some steering components. the worst part of it was, it had tweaked his frame. they were able to pull the frame into an acceptable spec limit ( whatever that is) and were able to fix his truck. so hopefully your frame isn't tweaked that bad so they can fix it. that would be my biggest concern.

Man I feel for you.

2 mo ago I had my brand new ricer commute car rear-ended. 1600 miles on it. $8K in damage on a $22K car!

If the frame is damaged I hate to say it but you will probably pay more in tire wear over the long run than you will save from not getting another truck.

Sorry,

Chaney, We were on last chance mine road looking for a way down to the yuba. Apperently there used to be an access to it from there. when we did'nt find it we followed the road out. It ended up tying into 29. we were going to get on 20 and head to washington and find a place on the yuba when i got hit.

Although i wanted to resort to violence, I did'nt. but if you go down the road you might find the car still there. just off hwy 20 about 400 yards down just past omega road.

long story short the guy who hit me said he was going to make money on the car he got for free, by donating it. So my friend and i shot it up with a sig 40, and i rammed it for several minuets with my 650 prarie with a warn bumper on the front.

My truck is being trucked to one of the best shops in sonoma county for repair.

will keep posted.

Thanks all for caring, jim c

My truck arrived at gulick's auto body and repair in petaluma today at 2pm.

Thanks 6paccuda i will check my pan definately. They will have a hard time getting away with anything as i will be on them like a diaper.

Is that the winedy ass road from H20 to Washington. That town is something else, but has a kick ass river with lots of rocks to jump off of though.

Sorry about your accident

The road to washington is steep and windy. It goes from hwy 20 to washington. About 8 miles to the east. I was coming from eagle lakes driving up the jeep trail, rock crawling the truck. from hwy 80 we went north on 20 to some dirt road called last chance mine rd. it tied into rd 29 in the N. F. It pops out on hwy 20 about 8 miles from washington rd. Were hwy 20 and N. F. rd 29 meet is were i got hit. The area is known as omega rd as there is another rd in the area called omega rd. And the omega rest stop is near by also.

This eagle lakes trail is possable in the full size trucks but is not advised if you dont want scratches on your truck or take the chance of scraping your axle housings. a stock 325/600 made it with little trouble and few scratches. But with after market suspension and 33 or 35 tires on should have no problem. i advise you to stay away from the meadow lake /fordyce creek trail as this is much worse that the road we went on.

Sorry to hear about your wreck. My 95 Ram was wrecked last May when a little old lady pulled out in front of me with her Neon. I went right over the front of the car - flattened everything in front of her radiator to the ground - and slid into a 12" phone pole, breaking it off. The Neon did not hurt the truck, but the pole hit right on the left end of the front axle, pushing the tire back into the drivers door and door post. It ran ok afterwards, but the cab corner and door post were damaged badly.

I wanted my insurance to save her, but they totaled it out. That's when I went out and bought the new 03 I have now.

Had to rent an F-150 for a couple weeks too. Found out their 5. 4 liter is gutless.

Good luck with your truck,

Yuba river, Nevada City area

firemanemt,

I have spent quality time in the Yuba river area and it is a peaceful beautiful area. Hopefully, your truck will be back together soon.

Anybody that collides with a Ram is usually going to come out on the short end of the stick.

My truck is finished and looking pretty good. gulicks auto in petaluma did an excellent job restoring the green machine back to her before accident shape. They also fixed a deer hunting boo boo i put in it, and replaced my previously cracked windshield.

I pick it up in the morning and can't wait.
