i lost around a half mpg but it runs fine, i had hoped to get a improvement when i ditched the stock exhaust and went to 4" straight pipe which happened right when the pump stickers went to ulsd, but i think i was running it a few months before, ulsd seems to just barely make any foam during fill up so that kinda marks the transition for me

My Truck is the same. Bad Milage, Pour power, Loud Pinging and it sound like there is no oil. This diesel suck. Well I think we are all going to have to buy the 07 6. 7L

I must be lucky, been running Stanadyne Lubricity formula haven't noticed any difference.

they can keep there new diesels we like the 24 and 12 valve older engines

they are making so these trucks dont last as long

I may just start making biodiesel

i ran a tank of b100 one time on a trip out of town and the truck ran so smooth it was unreal

no ticking at all just nice and smooth the truck loved this stuff

i can't find bio diesel in west palm beach florida but if i could you bet your *** I would run it

my truck ran the best it ever did on biodiesel!!!!

I was shocked at how quiet it was shocked even my wife could not get over what a diffrence it made

Fuel economy has definitely suffered for me in the last months, not positive it is ULSD or something else. I have not found any Biodiesel to try out yet either.

these trucks run better on used motor oil than ULSD and thats old motor oil

I thank bio diesel b100 is the best thing you can put in our diesels

i don't go for the old motor oil thing just making a point

Here in SoCal we've been running lower(125ppm)diesel for ages before the introduction of ULSD. Maybe it "conditioned" our trucks or something. I can't tell the difference on my '99 and my '07's never known anything else. Where I work the school buses,pickups. etc. have been running on "green"diesel(ULSD) for 1 1/2 years now. Techs say no increase in problems. Maybe we're just lucky. Europe's had it for a decade now and is going cleaner. Who knows?

My truck runs the same as always and still gets the same mileage as before. I run no additives of any kind. Of course I spend the winter in southern Florida. I suspect winter fuel, cold operation and more idling time make the biggest changes in winter fuel economy. I still drove my old '89 before I retired. I lived in northern Illinois then and I did see a bit lower fuel mileage then.

Lets see how much fun it has been so far,the new fuel that is... .

In the last 6,000 miles I have changed the fuel filter 3 times and its about to get the fourth one. The filters look like the asphalt onwhich our trucks drive on. The new ULSD is so harsh it cleans your fuel system out of whatever has been built up and clogs the filter. Now keep this in mind as the stations tanks are alot larger than yours and while they all have filters,you still will have problems with your also. Its the same problems in my pickup that we have had at my work with the new fuel.



Now as for the pickup. .

A little Marvel Mystery Oil and some Cetane Boost added to the new fuel and the truck runs like it should,sitting your butt hard into the seat when you stand fat and hard on the loud pedal. Fuel milage is off some,but,until summer fuel comes back I will not judge it as we all know winter blends kill milage and power and warm up time doesn't help either... ... . Andy

Now that you guys mention it, that makes sense. I thought something was wrong with my truck. It feels like someone unplugged the edge ez, it sucks! I hadn't thought about the new fuel. I've got 500 gallons of the old stuff in my tank i use for my backhoe, i'll have to use some of that and see if it makes a differece. Right now, it's sluggish. It won't push me in my seat. Time to change the filters again. F'ing EPA Nazis.

I am happy w/ the new ULSD. Truck is no louder. Runs smooth. Same power. I still don't think it burns any cleaner than 500 PPM # 2, or my injectors are getting old.



I gained . 76 MPG on ULSD.

they must be putting a ton of additive in our fuel down in TX because the stuff I fill up with smells like Power Service and I haven't noticed any ill effects

the new fule does suck, i agree. To combat it , I've been ussually adding home heating oil to my tank. Ya, I no it's illegal, yada, yada, yada. Oo. truck runs absolutely awsome! lower egt's. more power, better fuel milage. For some reason, my truck will not perform good on straight. home heating oil or straight "new" deisel. When mixed together, runs like new! (380,000 miles ago=new) hope this helps

I think you all are imagining things lol. I can't tell any difference in power or mileage using the Sinclair sweet crude based fuel. Just smokes a little less which is great in my book. I throw in a quart of 2stroke oil per tank even before ULSD came along. Have to get on the dyno this spring to see actual numbers but I'm sure it's negligable. Mind over matter people lol.

my sister has a vw tdi jetta and it runs like **** on the ulsd

so it's not just the cummins diesel :-{}

Can you explain what it is about ULSD that would cause an engine to run like crap? It is known that the BTU's are down by ~1% but the cetane rating is actually up. Can you feel 1% power loss in the seat of your pants? If you're truck is running bad it's much more likely due to the station you are buying it from having a bad batch of fuel than it is ULSD.
