HI,

My truck had a leaking injector pump and the shop too it apart... . further than I though they had to to remove an injector pump (took off the fan, and the cover that normally covers all the gears up front etc... )

Anyways, while the truck was so apart I figure it might be a good idea to take care of the killer dowel pin since it is probably exposed now... . How is this done?

I've read some threads and one said to just tap it in and degrease and loctite it... . I'd feel better tabbing it or something... . I also read something about needing a jig?

What is the best and easiest way to take care of this (KDP)?... . I post this here so I can hopefully get some printed directions before the shop closes up the engine.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Since its apart , tabbing is the way to go , a large washer thats ground to a tear drop shape , the bolt hole centered in the larger part of the tear drop , then a little longer bolt , because with a washer the original will not go in as far , also take out all bolts out of the gear case , clean holes with brake clean & use blue lock tight .

HI,

Thanks for the reply... . I am not sure I follow what is to be done... . are there instruction with pictures I can give to the shop?
I mentioned the KDP to them and they didn't know anything about it... . I bumped into the shop owner earlier today and he said they would be working on it Friday.

Thanks

Andrew

Thanks guys I REALLY appreciate the pics and info..... I was kinda scared with the first set of instructions when you had to drill and all and worry about some jig BUT the picture with the little tab under the nearby bolt makes it look oh so simple (at least while everything is apart!)... . I'll print out this pic and give it to the shop owner tomorrow.

Thanks again!

Andrew
