I hate when you buy a new vehicle only to find out they will change the style and out-date your new one. :-laf

Steve...

You can do like me,,

In '03 I wanted one, but I was worried about a few "bugs" they might have, and a rumoured HO engine,

so I wait,

in '04. 5 The H. O. and 48RE come out, awesome, but I see where the interior manufacture gets dropped and a new manufacture gets the bid,, hmmmm,

so I wait,

in '06, wow, new front end, and some new electronics, but I hear a rumour about a new motor, and new emissions,

so I wait,

'07. 5 wow a new motor and new trans!! but, what is this? in '09 the 1500's get a new look, that means in '10 the Heavy duties will get a new look,

so I wait,

now, I hear the 1500's get a diesel in '10, and the Heavy Duties will get a new look different than the 1500's in '10 also.

So, I'm waiting.

I might have to get a 1500 Diesel, and a 3500 Diesel.

Wait, wait, wait. argh. Should 'bought an '08,,, but the '10's will look so different, and look "newer" for alot longer than the '08/'09 I buy now...

so I wait.

I had open heart surgery 3 years ago because of worrying about such things. Buy what you can't afford and enjoy life.

At the rate I buy my trucks, they will probably be in the 5G before I buy another for myself.

And you would have to go completely go through the brakes if you want quality and stopping power. :-laf

I will take the bad brakes and be grinning like a fool if i could go back to a 12 valve. :)

But its just a dream. I do really like the 3rd gen now im used to it.

Man do I agree with that. I'd love to have the chance to buy a first gen new again.

well im thinking ill stick to my 97 hell maybe in a few years it will be worth more then when new. i firmly believe that at least the 12v's and maybe all 2nd gens likely the 1st gens as well will all be classic collector items.

I feel sorry for people who feel the need to keep up w/ the Joneses... newer doesn't always mean better

I've been a die hard 12v guy forever because they were always the best bang for the buck...

Now that the CR trucks are really coming down in price, I've bought a couple of them because I got KILLER deals on them.

But I can't imagine EVER buying a brand new vehicle. It just doesn't make any sort of financial sense

Its not the Joneses I'm worried about, but with the body changes and the fact that my 07 will be dated, I will lose some resale value. I don't think I will sell my C&C for a long time but just the fact that it will be worth less bothers me a little.

Merrick, I'm not sure I'd keep holding out. Its not too late to get an 08. I sort of had the same thoughts as you but then realized that the 08 looks like a real solid package and really looks quite sharp with the newer style front end and clear headlights. They say my 08 will be ready for delivery later this afternoon. Oo.

Perhaps it makes no sort of financial sense to you, but, some of us it makes better sense than buying an 03-05 if we want to get into a HPCR truck and skip the VP44 wonders.

Yah '44's Suck. I've gone through 7, but this last one has lasted a few years...

Coalsmoke,

I think I'm gonna try to get an '08 or '09. My '98. 5 is really getting old to me.

Merrick

Wow, 7 yikes.

That's how my 95 was getting to me, it had a lot of miles on it and was getting very expensive to keep it going and I was just getting plumb tired of spending countless hours working on it to repair stuff that I took care of just a couple years prior, so the 08 with the warranty worked out better for me. I've noticed that there are not many issues being reported with the 08s now, and half of the people that are whining about the new 6. 7s don't even own one. I think it will be a good truck like the 03-04s were in their own way.

yah, wierd, 5 of them were with the FASS system,, I guess I was buying somebodies bad batch.

I think I'll pick a new one up, like you, I'm getting tired of fixing/repairing what I have taken care of. Of course, the 512 rwhp is going to be hard to give up, LOL
