My truck stinks

The exhaust that is! It doesn't smell like diesel exhaust rather a cross between a city bus and a 62 chevy in bad need of a tune up. It's been getting progressivly worse for the last 6-8 months and i can't find the cause.





Thoughts???

cataletic converter perhaps... if the cat has run away then I dont really have any other ideas.

Jim,

The cat is still there. I was leaning towards that conclusion but wasn't sure. Wouldn't i see a reduction in performance if it was getting clogged?

You bet, any restriction in exhaust, and you will see a loss of power.

Yep, thats what i should do. The wife is a stickler for exhaust emissions but maybe this is the time to change her mind. She hates they way it smells



Might also be time to replace the down pipe from the turbo and run 4' back to the Banks exhaust?
