Early sunday morn. , (2 a. m) I met some friends out downtown, and as everything was closing up, I had just gotten in the truck and was gettin ready to go, when I decided to make a quick call before I left. So the dome lights faded off, and from behind I hear some dudes talkin, didn't think nothin of it. All the sudden, I hear one of the guys say (muffled, my windows were up) "yo watch this". . out of the corner of my eye, before I could do anything to react, up comes a figure in the pitch black and BAM! this (insert words here) comes up and PUNCHES my drivers door right below the handle! #@$%!
Prior to this as a last second effort, I was gonna start the truck, so he knew that I was in it, so instantaneously, the motor turned over, a millisecond too late. We all know what a cold, straightpiped Cummins sounds like, His eyes must have been big as baseballs!
I threw open my door, grabbed the handle and the post, yelled a few choice words, climbed back in, threw on my lights, threw it in gear, a little powerbrake, then let'er rip. Right at him. He's one lucky SOB that he could jump a 4' wrought iron fence, or he may very well have found out what a 7k truck feels like. Knowing what the bodies are like on these trucks I was assuming the worst. However, all it left were 3 knuckle marks in the door, no chips or scratches.
How big must ones "stones" be to be so stupid?!? Who knows if that fence wasn't there, I wasn't drinkin, so as far as I'm concerned, hitting someone sober is a LOT better than hitting someone intox. We work way too hard to be privileged to drive these monsters, and spend way too much time and money to keep them nice to let crap like this happen. I am glad at least I was in the truck... who knows.
