Doug,

Congrats on the ride of the day. I read your sig, you might sign up on Pirate 4x4 stie and post your trade offer, those guys will kill for a D60 and there were several guys talking about setting up their 61's for lower gears.

Thanks for all of the kind words guys:) .

I have started a new job that is 55 miles one way & 12 hour shifts. Because of the 110 mile round trip, I bought a used VW Jetta TDI to get back & forth to work (48. 85 mpg), so unfortunately the truck only gets started & driven on my days off. I was actually considering selling it, something I don’t really want to do after all of the work I put into it.

Very nice truck Doug, if you decide to sell I would take very good care of "Snowflake". :D

Did you do the conversion, how long did it take? I hope you never have to sell her. Once again nice truck.

Great rig...

You made it! Keep the truck Doug. If the VW chokes a little, at least you have a decent ride that will get at least 23mpgs :D

Patrick.

???

Wow, thanks for all the kind words guys. I just happened to be checking the first gen forms for the first time in 3 or 4 days and see MY name, kinda odd since I haven't posted in a while. Just goes to show what a good bunch 1st genners are!

Well the Jetta is gone and I have yet another new job which requires me to have a truck less than 5 years old. Well you KNOW what I got, an '04 305/555 4x4 48re (company is paying for it). The new truck truck is great, but not the job and I sure do miss driving "Snowflake" everyday. Still got it, it's parked on my parents property. See it every Sunday when visiting my folks, makes me kind of teary eyed to see it sitting there. It's tough to let something go that you've put that much effort into.

I don't get anywhere near the looks in the new truck as I did in the '83. I might hold onto "Snowflake" utill I decide if this is a long term job or not. Although a little extra Christmas $$ would be nice.

Again, thanks for all of the kind words and I hope Ole Saint Nick fills your Christmas stockings with PODs & BHAFs :-laf
