Ok, I'm submitting this for review by you wise old soot eaters... :D

I'm planning my next round of BOMBS as follows:

PS 62

Mach 4's

Smarty

My questions are:

1) Is this a good combination?

2) What concerns do I need to address?

3) Will the Smarty and EZ play together for any benefit or should I sell the EZ and move on?

4) Any estimates on where I'll end up in the power "food chain"?

For the record, trans was rebuilt with Dunrite tripple disc converter. Heavy towing or hauling is very rare.

Thanks in advance,

The EZ will play very nice with the Smarty on the even # programs. If you have a EZ-Comp then you get the benifit of on the fly adjustability. You will have fun ;)

With the Smarty there's no reason to keep the EZ. Sell it.

Smarty and Mach 4s is good for 400-420hp depending on turbo.

Thanks for the replies. I suppose these types of threads are getting beaten to death ;) . From what I've been reading I should be happy with this combo. :D

Thanks again.

Quick question. .

Does the Smarty have a setting that will fuel less than stock at low throttle settings? That would be a nice feature to smooth out the low end "touchyness" of larger injectors, but still give full fuel at WOT.

you can try half power but I bet you will keep trying other levels.

The smarty has a program for almost everyone.

Thanks Bob.

It sounds like if there isnt a setting like that now, one could be made up in the future and made available. Thats pretty neat in itself.

Seems like just having the ability to "communicate" better with the truck justifies the purchase of a Smarty. Being able to read/clear codes and tweak its behavior in a matter of minutes to your changing conditions (towing, fiddling with different accessories, diagnosing problems).

Another thing I like is the ability to get rid of the external wiring of a timing box (VA, EZ). With the VanAaken there is extra unshielded wiring direct to the VP44 connector. Its a potential source of RF pickup that can cause any kind of problem. Its basically the reason BlueChip has added the ferrite bead on their pump-tap wire.

The Smarty gives options, with less hardware connected.

Look at my sig----Smarty/Mach 4's suggested by "BOB" himself,so far really happy, from what GARY-K7GLD said in another thread with this combo IE. Smarty/Machs it pretty hard to read guages(register in my mind)Speedo, and watch the fast approaching road/traffic at the same time :-laf :-laf :-laf . Good combo Oo.
