Since Extreme1 and I have been the only ones to vote for the useless jack it leads me to believe that not many folks have had to use theirs. If you ever have to use it in the middle of the night on some deserted road it will clearly stick in your mind as the most useless piece of junk on a Ram. Especially be aware if you have oversized tires or a load, chances are that the stock jack will do nothing at all. I have a feeling that it may be the same jack that comes with a Neon...

The jack is on my mind, I just haven't noticed (needed) it yet. The one time I had a flat I was lucky enough to be home, where my floor jack, impact wrench and, most importantly, the spare tire were!

I should have added the factory jack too. I've carried a 6 ton bottle jack and a 3 ton floor jack w/ two 6-ton jack stands in my rig since the day I took it home.

Bill, I just got to use my jack for a double tire change a week ago on the highway. It wasn't the worst jack I used but what I hated most was UnJacking the truck. Nothing like turning the stopcock and dropping your truck right down. I think I'll replace it with a real jack and store it outside the cab so there is no chance of oil leaks making a mess.



Also unless you are lucky enough to have a shoulder to pull off on, the stock jack would be utterly useless. . . it doesn't have a very large base pad. I was getting ticked at some of the truckers that blasted by at 80mph and didn't pull into the left lane when they could have. They nearly knocked my truck off the jack with their wind blasts.



I make use of my sunglasses holder, small dash cubby (cellphone), center cubby (CB radio), but I planning on removing the plastic cupholder housing around the shifter and instead going with a Geno's cupholder. I think the molded plastic contraption surrounding the base of the shifter leaves a lot to be desired aesthetically

The stock jack took a flying leap the first week.

Tested it when I first got the truck, knew that wasn't a better idea.

8 ton bottle is secured in the back and a lot easier to get to .

Gained more room in the cab storage area.

Sunglasses on dash, seat heaters in the hole, Geno's cup holder holds the cups, removing stock holder for gauges and CB.

registration and insurance in suglass holder.

Garage opener in my dreams.

dmurdock - I keep my employee ID card in the garage door opener compartment. Maybe I'll make an anti-garage door opener someday, just so i can mess with the neighbors when they try opening their garage doors.



I keep my clip-ons in the glasses door.



I keep the key to the storage unit in the black hole.



Heck, looks like I've made it all usefull, after some carefull thought.



Oh... I know... The loose nut behind the steering wheel is useless!

I can, (and do), at least use the garage door opener holder to store a small bag of M&M's in.

I don't have overhead console, one less thing to worry about.



The OEM jack I have used a couple of times (front OEM tires after 60,000 on them seemed to attract sharp objects) it worked fine, but a hydraulic jack would be quicker. Matter of fact I have an 8 ton one but keep it in the freightliner.



I can't say it totaly worthless but the all purpose rachett(for lug nuts, jack, spare) is a pain on bare hands (being flat with some what sharp edges). I carry a 3 foot piece of fence pole in the Mule to slide over the handle. Helps with extra leverage while breaking lug nuts free, besides saving your hands so you can drive truck after changing tire. If you have old floor jack handle that will work too.

My vote goes to the jack. Whoever designed that thing was having a very bad day. Caused me to have one bad day before I replaced it with a nice bottle jack.

AIR DAMN

ive used the jack on a ferd, off road, and drunk, it seemed to work, and it is better than no jack. My vote goes fer the air dam. Why do they put one on a 4x4? Ive had 2. the original is in the grage, and the second went to Dr BS, it appeared after the body shop had their fun for a month.

Stock rear bumper. Seems to be made of chrome plated silly putty.

My most useless item on my truck would be the sorry excuse for a horn. Maybe my truck's horn is caked full of mud or something, but with the Cummins anything over an idle RPM, ya can't hear the blasted thing.

Add a Straight Pipe, a K&N air filter and all bets are off.

But of course, the looks of my 3500 keeps people from pulling out in front of me as much.

They go for big rig truck, and got 75% ti the goal, and then put the horn of a half ton on the truck.

The sunglasses holder fits a pack of smokes perfectly. As for the bottle jack... it works a hell of a lot better than my "heavy duty" floor jack that can't lift the truck enough to change a tire . I actually installed my front end leveling kit with a set of jack stands, a cinder block, and the bottle jack only for lifting. Good enough for me .

I can't remember if the AirDam was an "option" or if there was just a "optional delete" on it. Anyhow I ordered mine without it intentionally. Saved a couple of bucks (not that it mattered) but figured I didn't need the thing. Currently debating if I want to use Doug's AirDam (Ram air) with my truck/hood. Haven't decided on that one yet.

Another reason to "love" the auto, my cupholders will carry two Route 44 Cherry Dr Peppers from Sonic side by side, can't beat that.



I use the lil cubby next to radio for cell phone, unless its "charging" then I open the ashtray and lay it in there.



The "Garage door" opener holder I sometimes put a few dollar bills in there for a rainy day.



The sunglasses holder holds the remote to my radio.

I would have to say the most useless thing on the truck has to be the factory backup lihgts. These things aren't any brighter than the brake lights. Put a set of Warn driving lights under the rear bumper on a toggle switch and I can see what I'm running over now. They also work really great for getting rid of anoying talegaters, almost as good as hitting the trailer brakes.
