I use the garage door opener on my truck, but it is not for a garage. It is for the opener for my Mighty Mule gate opener. As far as the sunglasses holder, mine holds a extra Glock or Colt magazine. Quick and easy to get too.

Cargo light

Any of you ever tried to use the cargo light to back up to something? The dome light comes on before the cargo which lights up the cab well enough to blind me of that light in the bed. Why can't they make a switch like the 1st gen had. At least I could see.

LEt me see, the order of the most useless things for me would be:

1. front bumper that crushed at under 5mph against a Jetta

2. Horns that I can fart and belch louder than

3. jack that has 9 sq inches of bottom

4. auto transmission

5. factory paint

6. factory muffler with a handle

7. radio that cannot be heard with windows open over 50mph

8. backup lights

9. head lights

10. sideways lights

11. spark plugs

12 plug plugs

13. 35 gal gas tank with 7mpg economy

I still would buy another one. except it would burn the other fuel

Now, let's all remember, these useless things are the genius of DC. We didn't invest in Dodge, we invested in a Cummins... making sure blame is placed where its appropriate, with the expection of Doc?? I'm not sure but that may be a DC flaw too!!

(just kidding Doc!)

Well, no one's voted for this one yet: How 'bout the speedometer that only goes to 120 mph ;) Actually I'd have to vote for the adhesive that holds the rear view mirror on. The thing fell off a couple of weeks ago :(

I use my sunglass holder to hold my "wrap-around" glasses, it won't close all the way, but there's enough friction in the hinge to keep them in it and up against the roof. I use the cubby hole in the dash for my stereo remote and parking access card. Haven't had to use the stock jack yet to change a tire (just to change the TC :D), but I'm glad somebody mentioned that it would probably be useless with a lifted truck - gonna have to do something about that.

I laughed so hard I woke up the dogs in the back yard!

Komik - man if you Wife see's that - wow - you might as well become a Priest - cause you know what you won't be seeing... . Cute though.

Most useless - what about that worthless cupholder on the rear floor of the extended cab? The jack, I mean what an embarrasment - you have to carry real ones with you. Nobody makes one that's WAS (that's Worth A S _ _ T). This must be a joke across the board with the bean counters, I mean it doesn't matter if it's FORD, GMC or whom ever - the jack's SUCK!!!!!

I've used the factory jack several times (with the camper on also) and it works just fine. Not as good as my 3 ton floor jack, but it also doesn't weight 50 pounds!

I bought the $600+ CD player option. So why does the center console have storage for cassetts? You would think that for $600 we would get a console that is made for CD's!

The most useless thing on my truck is cargo light switch. I have to turn all the inside lights on to look in the bed at night. On my old 93 there was a neat little switch right there on the dash that operated the cargo light and ONLY the cargo light.

I got it, the moooooosssssssssst uuuussssseleeeeessss thing

is the fuel sending unit along with its comrad the fuel gauge.

( I should say the gauge is the least used thing)

Which would make the trip odometer one of the most used component on the truck.

I'll vote for the horn, jack handle, jack?

I'm really surprised that no has mentioned the warranty or the dealer that comes with the truck.

How about the parking brake on 5-spd trucks especially when the back end is facing down hill.

Cup holders on 94 thru 97 trucks. ( Those that have used these to hold drinks(large size) of your favorite beverage know to hold on to your drink over large bumps instead of the steering wheel).

I keep pens in the sunglass holder... The car seat straps in the rear of the `01's- totaly useless... and I've had three carseats in there at once!! ~ Jim:rolleyes:

The most worthless thing on mine was the 3/36 warranty that came with mine and the organization that does the warranty work. I would have preferred money back and a 0/0 warranty...
