The grab handle on the passenger side. My 99 had one and my 01 dosen't. Has anyone retro fit one on new Rams? She miss's the thing. I'm talking about the one above the door. I noticed the rear overload springs/spring on my 01 is a single leaf vrs. the 99 with 2 springs. I see the rating remained the same.

Walter thats one thing I had never looked for on my 01. My 99 had the handle as well. Youve got my curiosty going so now I will need to take a look. The bodys are the same with the 99 and 01. I would assume that you would be able to add a handle.

Walter, what trim package do you have. I have a 01 HO Laramie SLT and it has two handles on the passenger side. One on the A-pillar and one above the passenger seat.

The old 97 had the top handle, #ad
the 01. 5 doesn't, #ad
the first thing my Dad noticed about the new interior. Both SLT's.

Walter, your right on the handle, haven't been able to find out why either. Even though the the rear overload is single instead of dual it holds more weight before it compresses. The pig tail that came with the earlier models is also missing from the 01. 5's. I've complained to the dealer and told them that I wanted the trailer end of the wiring harness. Still the 01. 5 is out pulling my 99 hands down. Pete

I took the trailer plug from my 99 before I droped it off. No black on tailgate, no grab handle or trailer plug, they even shortened the side mldging again. It is all worth it for the HO power and the awesome 4 wheel discs. This thing has alot more balls than my doggy 99 auto.

You can add a grab handle on the 01's. Our 95 had one and the 01 was missing. Went to local dealer and ordered one. It matched the headliner and came with spacers and screws. The mounting holes are in the roof. I cut the head liner and screwed the handle to the roof and pushed the trim in place.

Mine has a handle on the A pillar but not on the roof. I did get the wiring. I wonder what they will leave off next year?

Just emptied the trash can at the shop and the last thing to fall out was the handle package. The Dodge part number is:

5DZ39SL2 Handle

I do not know if they come in more than one color. The one I bought matches the headliner in the 95 and 01.

All you guys that didn't get the grab handles on the passenger side got screwed. I got my truck in February and it had both the piller and overhead handle in place. I ordered the base package (ST I think), vinyl seats, no carpet, etc. .

You should contact your dealer and ask them why they are not in place. I'll bet they just ran out and decided to see if anyone would notice. LOL
