Just a Thought

DM,

I know you said that the wipers and the door locks were acting up, have you considered that the Central Timer might be bad? The CT controls the voltage to both and some other things run thru it. Just a thought if you still have problems with both. I replaced mine on my old Dodge when the Int Wipers took on a mind of their own and that was the problem.

Another note is I have had great luck so far with these PIAA wipers. The foil holds them down at speed and the water/ice doesn't seem to stick to the silicon like it does the rubber.

THEY ARE WORKING PERFECT AND I HAVENT HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR LOCKS... . YAHOO!!!!!

the door lock thing is a known issue it has a TSB .

the WSW motors are just junk period

dont turn them on to knock ice off the windshield it will screw the motor up

... I still have the old motor it was working when I replaced it I thought about hooking it up to my rear licence plate and when ever I get in trouble I can just kick it on and no body could read my licence # ... . LOL

I will try those whipers I have yet to find a satisfactory set for my truck.

Reman' Wiper Motor

I got a Reman wiper motor from NAPA today took about 30 min to install. :)

NAPA P/N WIP1650

This was just the motor, I see why DC will only give you the assembly with the cranks and linkage. :p

After taking the motor out I found the passenger side bushing very stiff as these have no place to lube the bushing.

I drilled a #40 hole thru the middle of the bushing to put some WD40 then some grease. I had to use my air nozzle to help inject the oil & grease into the bushings, I am thinking of installing a couple of small grease nipples to be able to pump them full of grease,

I am shure this is half the problem the motor burns out because the bushings seize up.

I put a new wiper motor in my truck when I got it this summer. The intermident didnt' work which was kinda annoying. Motor from Napa was about $50. Took maybe 20 mins to change and works great since.

Did the wiper assembly swap. Motor would not run in cold weather. Part covered under warrenty. I did the install to save down time. About 30 minutes. Good time to clean up all the crap that accumulates in the wiper linkage area.
