RV fridge problem

Looking for some tape for my friend to install his fiberglas truck cap with but still be able to easily remove it. This tape used to be widely available but he can't find it now. It was maybe 1. 5" or 2" wide and the mylar would hold up real well so the foam would not adhear to the bed.

Does anyone have a source or suggestion? TIA

The last time I bought it was at Wal-Mart. I haven't seen it lately but haven't been exactly looking for it. With the heat here and the rough roads I like to travel, that stuff would squirm out from under the cap after a few hundred miles. I just go without now. One of these days I'm going to have my bed and side rails coated with bedliner.

Todd, my friend does have the bed coating extented up onto the top to minimize scratches. He needs to take his cap off and on quite often and ends up doing it alone half the time. He's had the cap quite some time and while doing some repairs, has put thick PVC on it for a base so it slides well. The tape we had in mind was sticky on the foam side and stayed put plus the mylar held up well even while moving it time to time. He would like to minimize the water leaking in.

If you get the paper backed and stick the sticky side to the canopy it will come off everytime with the camper, leaving no mess on the bed. I manufactured truck tops here in Alaska for about 14years and saw thousands put on. Two words of advice since you asked. Don't use mylar if you run any rough roads, it'll vibrate out and if you do run rough roads or any offroad, bolt it wn w/ GR8 bolts, double flat washers top and bottom, and use nylon lock nuts. Good Luck.
