I have a 2003 2500 HO 6spd. I pull a lot of trailers out of IN to MA. These are all NEW and they have one thing in common - the left brake light on all these trailers won't work so the short is in the truck. Can anyone tell me the color of the wire that supplys the left trailer brake light or where I can get a wiring diagram?? I have tried splicing onto the truck taillight - won't work=== it won't work on the flat plug either. Any help greatly appreciated.

The plug as factory installed is wired to the standard of the industry..... I don't have a pin out in front of me... . but the truck should be correct... . I'd get a test light and turn on the left turn signal... . The same connector in the socket is the LT and Stop light... ... If its good at the connector someone in the trailer factory is not doing his job.....

If its the truck..... I'd take it to the dealer... . These trucks with factory installed trailer tow packages have extra fuses, and relays in the electrial box to support the trailer... . running a wire from the left rear turn signal will do nothing more than overload the turn signal switch and the brake switch and the wiring... .

Hi Klenger-

I just got back from IN. Thanks for the prints. I might mention that the fuse for the brake light is still good. That is what puzzels us. Do you know if there are any relays between the fuses and plug?

Thanks again
