Okay I just got my mystery switch hooked up thanks to all of you but I have one question. I made it where I can unlock manually, lock manually or run stock, so I had to cut the orange and black wire. It seems to work okay but as soon as I got done I noticed if I turned my key on and then back off I could here a buzzing for about 3-5 seconds and then a click, seems like from the drivers side battery area. I did not here this before so I disconnected the jumper wire for the relay and the buzzing went away. What is making the noise? Is this normal to happen after jumping the relay? Do I have to jump the relay or could I just put it back in? Thanks for all of the help hooking it up.

Did you jump the relay socket pins and put the relay back in? It's supposed to be left out if the jumper is installed.

I did jump the relay. But I just took the jumper out and put the relay back in and it still works and does not make the noise. Why do they say to jump it?

The original problem was that with the relay the TCC lock up but would not unlock even if the switch was turned off. That happened when the 47RE first came out in the '96 trucks. In order to get it to stop you have to put the gear shift in N and after you had stopped, turn the engine off. Are you sure you are working with the right relay? This mod has worked with a lot of 47RE transmissions.

It does work. It unlocks when I want it to and locks when I want it to. I can also make it where the computer runs it like stock. I was just wondering what the buzzing was when I jumped the relay and why they say to jump the relay. I put the relay back in and the buzzing stopped and the switch still works fine. Thanks for your help.

This makes me wonder if there has been a reflash to your PCM that deals with this problem. The buzzing sounds like a relay. When it's buzzing you might put a finger on each relay in the PDC to see which one is making the noise.

When I had the jumper wire in it would do it. If I unhooked one side of the jumper and then turned the key it would not do it. Is there a problem with leaving the relay in? It buzzes for about 3-5 seconds and then clicks sounding like the click is coming from underneath the battery or in that area, but only with the relay removed and jumped. Thanks

The buzz is probably some other relay. It would be a good idea to find which one is doing it and see what your service manual says about that circuit.
