I found the NTPA rules on there site tonight. You can see it at www.ntpapull.com under "tech page" I am not sure what trucks they are shooting for but the rules seem a little weird. Check them out and let's hear what ya think of them.

A. Pro Stock Diesel FWD Trucks shall follow current NTPA Rule Book for Modified FWD except where superseded by rules found herein

Wonder what else these rules intale?

I. Maximum of two turbochargers single staged only allowed

Ok, so basicly single charger class.

M. Exhaust must discharge vertically a minimum of 2” above cab. Exhaust pipe must have two (2) 3/8 inch bolts mounted 90 degrees of each other in the vertical portion of pipe. Bolts to be no closer than eight (8) inches or farther than twelve (12) inches of exhaust outlet.

So then they want people to drill a whole in their chrome stacks. Not going to work for a lot of people. Most rules are wanting the bolts closer to the turbo and now these guys want them at the end?

L. Blow-proof belhousing is required. Type “C” belhousing may be used if shielded around the clutch release fork hole. Shielding on side, top, and bottom must be fastened to the frame and/or belhousing flange with a minimum of six (6) Grade #8, 3/8 inch bolts. The rear shield may have a hole large enough to allow operation of clutch rod linkage. No part of the shield may be welded or bolted to the belhousing and the shield must conform to the contour of the belhousing.

So they are basicly setting up a single charger class and yet they want bloof-proof belhousings?

If understand all the rules correctly then i will probably not be attending any of these pulls. Matt

Matt picked up on some of the "wierd" rules

H. OEM size and type fuel pump and injectors ONLY !

This would limit the 24v a lot, making them run stock injectors.

I do wonder who made up these rules? A gasser guy maybe??

I saw the rules about a month before the DHRA rules meet at Haiselys, in the Puller mag. What a joke. Said right in the mag that the rules were designed with the current class of trucks in mind. In mind to do what? Keep us from pulling with them? They are inforcing the same wheelbase limit as their open and mod 4x4 classes, so that pretty much cancels most of us out anyway. Come to think of it ATPA made our truck illeagal this year. Sure makes me glad I spent all my hard earned money on my pulling truck so it can sit in the garage. I guess the DHRA gang is the only ones I can pull with anymore.
