NW Injectors Installed!

This is a call for what could be the first meeting of the Northwest Chapter of Rammers... on Feb. 20th, I am installing a set of 275 injectors in my Ram... . anyone that is interested is welcome to come up, watch, help, BS, or pick on me. So far, it looks like MikeR, Evan, Vaughn, John, and myself. There will not be a real meeting, but after we are done with injectors, we can do any other project that needs to be completed. Come one, come all. Anyone interested in attending, email me for directions. Hope to see some new faces.

Hi guys!
I'm hoping to have an injector project for my truck as well for our little gathering.

Hey Rob,you better set two more places at the picnic table... I should be bringing my own little convoy. I just talked to Andy Perreault last night and he'll be coming. He also has a co-worker with a '97 dually C'mns, and I invited him as well. Brian Bowe, do you want come out too?

-Mike

I just sent out another batch e-mail to all NW BOMBers...

Looks like we are going to have a great turnout.

Also, we will have a big BBQ, so bring your appetite, and any snacks or goodies!!!

Hello Wa BOMBers!
the drive to Rob's can be a bit tricky... The farm roads all look alike, the dairy air is a bit distracting and the road you take indicates a dead end.
What I'm going to do is meet people at the Seatac Mall off I-5 in Federal Way. I'll probably be there at 9am and wait for others for about an hour, then we'll convoy out to Enumclaw.
Those who have CB's,we'll use channel 3.

For the out-of-towners,Seatac Mall is in Federal Way:from I-5 take exit #143 which is 320th st,go 2-blocks west(3rd light),I'll be on the left in the big parking lot.
Any ???'s you can email me.

-Mike

First let me vent due to computer and internet frustration!!! Just made a long post and then it disappeared into cyberspace without a trace!! Got the ol' "this page cannot be dispalyed" and whoof! #ad
Also it was very difficult getting onto and navigating the TDR site tonight #ad

OK, NOW i feel BETTER #ad

ANYWAY,
I think it would be nice to have an open-end torque wrench to properly torque the fuel line nuts. I'll bring my rudimentary injector puller, or someone can bring a real one if they hav eit.
Also make sure we have proper bits & taps for pyro install.

Gotta type fast so I don't lose this one

Vaughn

ps BarbiQ idea is great. Rob knows I'm nota carnivor so I'll bring vegga burgers so if your brave try one

Vaughn...

I got the taps, drills, fittings, sealers, wrenches, and just about everything else for the job. I also have a Sawzall... Just in case... #ad

Evan,

You're the man! Looks like we're pretty much set then. Would you have access to an open-end torque wrench? After reading posts about the importance of properly torquing the fuel line nuts, it would be nice have one on hand. I would like to retorque mine since I have the old style fuel tubes #ad
You may have the old ones on your rig as well.

Got my gauges today, can't wait for BOMB day!!

Vaughn

Vaughn,

Rob is in the process of lacating one... But just in case, I am going to talk to Mike and seee if he can "borrow" one from his work!!! #ad

I received my injectors UPS a few minutes ago... can't hardly type this, as I am fondling them at the same time!! Can't wait to do the install.
I have a ratchet torque wrench for in. lbs and one for ft. lbs. I could not find one that is an open end wrench. Anybody coming over that has one, please bring it along! See ya all soon.

any snap on dealer would have a crows foot fttting/flare nut head that will mount on a torque wrench... might be 3/8 drive that needs a 1/2 x 3/8 adpter. . might be able to locate in a napa auto parts store[doubt it]. . mac tools,or matco tools are other choices that come to mind. . also remember that the distance foward of center point of torque wrench adds torque value to reading... ie. reads 15foot lbs actual would be aprox 18/19 foot lbs. depending on length, center of drive pin of torque wrench to center of crows foot. . hope i made sence. . Gary

OK guys... it has been a very difficult couple of days... . not being able to install those injectors yet! I am not good at waiting, so its a good thing we scheduled this event. Evan and Mike were going to come out last fall and help me install the Blue Box... by the time they got here, it was in and tested. This is going to be a loonnnggg week! See ya all soon.

My stage II's arrived last nite! I can't wait for this weekend... Rob,YOU BETTER WAIT!
The installation instructions say nothing about torquing the fuel line nuts, only the injector plates. I'll still look for a crows foot anyway.

BTW. Does anyone want to do a straight pipe mod while you're there? Evan will have his sawzall and I can get pipe for $30,as long as I know by noon friday.

-Mike

I'll be there, I'm meeting up with MikeR at the SeaTac mall. More than likely, my truck will be filthy. So much for the "show truck" days!
What size crowfoots do you need? My uncle is a retired aircraft mechanic, and he gave me a bunch of Snap-On crowfoot tubing wrenches. However, they may be too big, the smallest one is 1-1/16. Let me know.
Andy

Andy... here is a surprise... I don't know what size that is needed! Whatever size will fit in the injector fuel tubes. Without looking, I recall someone on another post saying he thought it was a 19mm, but that sounds big... Bring 'em all, you have a truck!
Too bad Porky isn't coming... I have name tags for everyone if they want them...

Yes, it's 19mm Rob. I tried emailing you but rhanson117@aol.com kept getting returned "undeliverable" #ad
(maybe I typed 177 by mistake--?)

You mentioned you have some gray paint I can use for my instrument pod--my interior is Agate (light gray) is that what you have?

Can't wait for Sunday! I'll bring along my handy suction pump which will help get rid of pooled oil around the injectors & make for nicer work. Also will bring some shop towels I have handy. I've got the veggie hot dogs & hamburgers for the grill too #ad
#ad
and an extra roll of film for my Nikon #ad

Vaughn,

I think I have enough of the Agate Grey paint from dodge to do two light coats on your 15203 pod.

I emailed another member from Tacoma this morning, and he said he was coming, too. This should be a fantastic get-together!

My weatherman at work is right some of the time, and he says no rain til Monday... bring those cameras! See ya all soon.
