How much danger towing without gauges ?

Question for HotShotters..Help!

Hi! Any of you guy's, from the Detroit area, know if there are any RV campgrounds in the northwest/suburban area. I'm going to my 40 year highschool class reunion in early October of this year. I went to Thurston H. S. , for what it's worth. I have a 25' bumper pull trailer that I would like to use on my trip from Phoenix to Detroit. I haven't been able to locate any campgrounds in the area. I think the reunion will be held in Livonia. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. Joe. PS- Can you stay in the Walmart's (if there are any) in the Detroit area?

We are from Grand Rapids and have a daughter living in Brownstown. We have stayed at the KOA several times and were favorably impressed. It's right off I94 (think exit 194, Ecorse Road, but not sure). For some reason, there is not a great deal of choice in that area, it would seem.

I was surprised at how nice it was because of being located in the middle of the metropolitan Detroit area. phoekema is correct in that there is not much choice in that area. Other than that KOA, I think you would have to go too far north or west to find the next closest campground.

There is one in Wixem Haas Lake it is close to a Miejers Store (spelling?) Meyers they had the best price for diesel. The store is like a super Walmart with more stuff. The Campground Has good hook-ups its about 2 miles off the highway and no trains in the night. It is the only one we have found close to Detroit We found it in the Good Sam Book a couple years ago. You are close to the Free way so it's not hard to get to Detroit. We grew up in Detroit. Hope this helps you. If you need help I'll be glad to help.

Out northwest of Ann Arbor is a very nice state park. (Silver Lake) Don't let the fact that it's so close to Hell scare you. Hell is a nice place to visit, but... .

There is a KOA in Belleville, also. Reasonably nice, easy access to I-94. Also, the Silver Lake state park is day use only,no camping. Sterling State Park in Monroe is brand spanking newly renovated, easy access to I-75, straight up I-275 to Livonia. I live about 45 mins from Detroit, been everywhere in se Mich. Let me know if you need anything. Jeff
