Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) N0 2 Second Prime

Turn key on, does not activate the two second prime, fuel pressure reads 0 psi. Start truck and fuel pressure raises, truck runs fine. Why isn't the two second prime activating ? installed new lift pump still same problem. Any ideas?

I assume your turining the key to the run position right? Also, it is a 6 second prime if I'm not mistaken. I can't tell you what is happening, other that it is something electrical!

How long are you waiting before trying to get the two second prime?? If you turn the key on after the truck was just running the lift pump will not run for 2-3 seconds. It should however run after it sits all night. Maybe your system is'nt losing the prime, or the computer is not sensing the lost prime. Does the truck start right up?? Or does it crank for a while before it fires??
