I just replaced all 4 of mine in the 1st. week of march... . I got the part# for the advance auto parts lifetime ones..... I called napa and they didn't have my top one's..... I can give you a good piece of advice... . see if you have a dana 44 or dana 60 before you call, if you have a dana 60 you need to ask for ball joints for a 1ton or just tell them you have a dana 60(that's what I have even though it is a 2500 series)... . I ran into that problem they gave me ones for a dana 44 cause thats what they list for a 2500 series and I didn't know any better till I got the old ones out and relized they were the wrong ones..... you can check to see what you have if you lift the hood and check the white sticker on the underneath of the hood by the grill... it will be on the right side of the sticker..... let me know how you make out and if you need the part #'s...

I cant answere that... . All I know is when I called advanced auto they asked me what year,4x4,engine,and what size... . I told them 2500-DIESEL and they said they had them. I bought them took them home, the next day I got to changeing them and realized they were not the right one's when I called them back they said that they were showing on the computer as being the right ones... . so I called a guy that works at DC. and told me to call them back and ask them what REAR they were showing on the 2500's and they told me the 44's I told them I had a 60,(the only ones they list for 2500 series tks is the 44's. So you do have to tell them that you have a DANA 60 which is listed on the 3500 series) they checked had the parts I needed went back and exchanged them..... they were right... they are also greasable(bottom ones only) ... . I cant use the grease fitting... . it wont clear my axle joints... .

Had Napas and they sucked. Didn't hold up. Went to Moog and I've never been happier. Even used there Pitman and Idler arms. Just my opinion.

Doug. .

Pass on the Napa's and find a Moog replacement ball joint. The Napa's do not hold up very well and Moog's quality is much better. I do not have the numbers here but if you call me after 11am tommorrow here at home I will have them for you... ..... Andy

Did you have the standard or the heavy duty Napa ball joints?

Thanks,

Doug

I believe they were the heavys. Didn't last long. I've usually been impressed with Napa but not with these. Mind you my application was for a 4x2. My front end has 2" spacers and this stresses the BJ's. The lowers are welded in and can't be changed. Needed new lower control arms with factory BJ's.

Go with Moog nothing else,, keep the receipt in case you need to replace them again, they are lifetime guarantee, parts houses won't tell you that, but I worked at a parts store, thats what I have on my '94 D/C 2wd 3500. 4x2 lower ball joints are tack welded in just grind off the tack welds and press out you don't need to replace the lower arm even though dodge recommends it only to get in your wallet. Just press in the new ones.

I wonder who makes NAPA's front end parts now? I know Car Quest sells Moog. I've always been happy with Moogs products. Have a buddy who works in UPS's repair shop. He advised me of this a long time ago. I figure they should know.
