Since it's from NAPA and is for the 98-02 Cummins, my guess would be that it is the Carter pump in a NAPA box. That means the Cummins dealer is still the cheapest place to get one at around $150.

I would check around also for the warranty, I've found most local parts houses sell the same pump w/liftime warranty instead of the 12mo/12kmi that Cummins offers at about the same price. I just got one from O'Reillys for $149.

Same pump as in a carter?

Do you have the part # of the pump you got from O'Reilly's?

Life time warrenty - you got my attention. I wonder if they honor that

if it's still pumping but not to OUR specs.

Just for the record cheapest I found is Freightliner $130.

And they honor the 1 yr warr. At least they say they do,

I'm about to give them one with 4000 miles on it. They got

to send it off, we'll see.

Yes.

P74213 is the Carter part number.

They don't test the pump, they have no capability to do that nor do they know what the specs are. I worked for them for years, you tell them it's bad and why, as long as you have your receipt, you get a new one, just like Wal-Mart.
