I just installed a new Napa trackbar,part number 272-4229

I was trying to cure my death wobble again. .

I noticed it was a little shorter than the Dodge part and made the front axle stick out the left side 3/4 " more on the driver's side. .

I had to recenter the steering wheel using the adjuster collar on the bar... . it was off about half a rtevolution. .

After all rthis,,i still have the wobble,,,,might even be worse.

I swapped tires and rims around,,,,,still no difference. .

Yes the tires are pretty worn... but i'm waitng for my new wheels to put new Michelins on it again. .

My question is,,,does the front end sticking out more on the drivers side afect anything???

Thanks

I've replaced my Napa trackbar twice on warranty, it was always a perfect fit. Same p/n as you. If your truck is lifted then it will pull the axle to the side. Hope you in fact got the trackbar you ordered. Not sure if you are saying yours is adjustable, mine isn't. Worn out trackbar made my truck drift rather than wobble. What fixed the wobble was replacing the steering stabilizer. I used a Heckethorn for about $35, there are many others available for all kinds of prices, all are better than the stock stabilizer.

Have someone wiggle the steering wheel while you are under the truck (engine off) and check each tie rod end for side play (should be virtually none). Next possibility would be worn bearings at the wheels, or alignment way out. Is tire wear even or cupped?

Hey guys ,,thanks for the help

Yes my tires were cupping since they were put on,,

I had the truck aligned right after installing the new tires.

How can i tell if i have a wheel bearing going bad. .

I have been feeling a fairly obvious vibration when bracking lately... . even afterr new rotors and pads about 5000 miles ago.

Also,,like i said,,after putting the new Napa thack bar in,,my steering wheel was off by near half a turn,,requiring a lot of turns on the ajuster sleeve . . since doing that,,my left front tire has been getting really worn on the outside edge...

I measured how far the wheels are out of the wheelwell and the left front is definitely near one inch farther out than the right. .

At this point,,i'm wondering if i should just put new Michelins on it and have it aligned,,,,but i would to do all that and still have the death wobble...

Thanks again

I've had this happen to me on two separate occasions and it has required two different fixes. I've read most of the posts on the TDR and the potential sources of this include almost everything in the front suspension, tires, alignment and steering. Personally, the first time changing the track bar to a DT unit and increasing the caster "fixed" it for about 6 months. The second time required right upper/lower ball joints, a tie rod end and rebalancing the tires.
