How much do you save buying a Napa one compared to a new one from Cummins? The only way it would have fitting problems would be if it is a cheap casting. David

I had the same experience with a pump i picked up at Case Tractor in Yuma Arizona, a lot of their tractors have Cummins engines . The impeller shaft and bearing seemed to be 50% larger than any other pump i had checked. When i went to install it a friend of mine happened to come by, so i worked from under the truck and held the pump in place so he could put in the bolts. The second bolt would not screw in. It seemed the casting around the weep hole was more bulbus and interfered with the hole in the block. Also, which did not help was the timming cover extends about 3/8 of an inch over the casting right under the pump. I was tempted to tap the thin timming cover that extends over the casting with a hammer bending it 90 degrees ( following the casting ) but was afraid of distorting the cover causing a leak. The parts guys at Case said their mechanics used these pumps on their service truck. I wanted to talk to the mechanic that drove the service truck, but he was always gone early into the field, so i never did catch up with him. 2004 3500 DRW 2WD ........ED
