National Backorder Front Driveshaft? Help!!

i have a 2007 4x4 6. 7 and it went into CC Driveshaft for front and rear pinion seal replacements due to them weeping slightly. They called and said the driveshaft cv is shot and needs to be replaced. I was so happy the krappy rear end had not gone out and only needed a $100 r and r job vs a $1700 rear end replacement. I said just get a exchange front driveshaft or get mine rebuilt or get one from the dealership in Corpus. Guess what, the dealership has no driveshafts and Larry Cook called 7 other dealerships trying to find a new driveshaft, no luck, they are all out of stock and waiting on National Backorder from Dodge!! So now I am going to pick up my truck minus the driveshaft since its in the back of the bed and drive to San Antonio Brake and Clutch and they are going to completly build a new driveshaft with the cv joint from my old unit, they say they had several come into there shop for the same problem. The aftermarket has not built new yokes to change out to a real ujoint and get away from the cv joint. So check your driveshafts and watch this thread if you have a 4x4 dodge, no drivehafts if yours goes out. Anybody got a new one they want to sell by the way???? Thanks!!! Oh yea, sorriest truck i have ever owned, 88,000 miles and toss's front driveshaft and no stock, just like the waterpump deal!!!!lol All one can do is laff... .....

There are 145 dealers nation wide that have a front driveshaft in stock, 18 of them are in Texas.

Easy to say when you have dealer access that no customer has and dont have a clue what happens to customers, that is one of the many things wrong with the Dodge parts system, they wont tell you who has a driveshaft, but they will tell you they are on national backorder and its 60 days at least. Why dont the dealers tell me who has one and order one in instead of me trying to find out and call every dealer in texas and actually call them?? I will tell you why, they dont give a darn anymore and could care less, I went thru this exact shame incompent parts scam with the water pump on this truck. Holt Cat parts system is so much better than Dodge, they tell you right then where one is and when it will get here. So now I read this I am driving 120 miles to pick up my truck with the driveshaft in the bed and drive it up 200 miles to San Antonio Brake and Clutch so they can either rebuild my driveshaft or make a another one. Something one can not get done by A dodge dealership in South Texas Corpus Christi texas area, we called 5 dealers down here same story every one, we dont got it and its on National Backorder. One of the many reasons Dodge Truck sales keep falling, no dealers left, the ones left still dont get it. Makes me feel real special finding out there are driveshafts available if they bothered to really look with an advanced search. Thanks for the info, dont help me a bit though, no way for me to figure out who has oneLOL same ol empty sack at the dealer parts counter for me.

My dealer in Bremerton, WA will tell me exactly were the parts are. He gives me the option to go pick it up, or he will bring it in.
I don't know if he is the exception or the rule. What ever he is, he is doing it right!

Whomever Whiteranch04 is dealing with is the exception to the rule for parts location.



Any Dodge dealer that I have dealt with can check other dealers stock at anytime and transfer it without having to mark it up from my experience.



Maybe it is a subscription fee for the dealer to have that ability, I have an appointment with my dealer Saturday and will ask the owner if I am right about that.



I know I pay Thermo King $1000. 00 per year for the privilege of checking other dealers stock,

Daimler offers the service for Western Star, Freightliner and Detroit Diesel for free.



If you are going to be a successful dealership you need all the tools you can get and have counterpeople that are interested, trained and will go the extra distance.



I have good people and would be appalled if a customer received a half-a** answer like Whiteranch04 was handed. Bad dealership, very bad.

Every dealer has the ability to see stock at all the other dealers that have that part. Free for the looking if they care to.

lithua dodge in Corpus has demonstrated they dont care for your patronage, again my dealer sources from the national parts networks and has come up with the parts as needed from the other dealers or warehouse then the big brown truck within days .



i would want to see the computer screen to say nationally unavailable my parts guy is better than that i have recommended you call my dealer many times in la grange tx and just like the broken record you have not tried these sources as your old ones have refused you correct service



if mike says 18 availalble in texas you just got reamed again file a complaint against lithua parts dept .
