Breaking (fake) News on CNN

Human Shields, Or Natural Selection?? What's the difference??

I think there should be a national concealed carry law during time of war and these threatened terrorist attacks. (There should be all of the time but especially now) I happen to live in a state where there is no CC law. If there is one terrorist attack in my state I will carry even illegally. I think I have the right to protect my life.

The element of suprise

I'm all for a CCW.

No CCW in the state I'm in either.

I dont think I'll be able to stop a terrorist attack with my little ol 1911, but I dont see why I shouldnt be able to protect myself.

After all, if I'm personallyattacked, I can only blame myself for not being ready for it. :D

I'm for it, the open carry.

Let them know WHOM not to mess with. And Patriot, it wont be hard in today society to find the lawyer to sue yourself for letting it happen to yourself.

Gots to also add that not too many know how to stop a 1911...

More restrictive? How about NO civilians allowed in NJ?

Would you feel safe having a night on the town in good ol Camden, or Newark, NJ without personal protection? ROFLMAO.

Gotta disagree on that one... ... Washington DC is about as strict as they come... . and #2 in the country for Murders.

Wait a minute??? You mean that the criminals don't know about the need to get a carry permit and they are carrying guns when that would be a violation of the law???? Gee I thought that the law agains't carrying a concealed weapon protected us law abiding citizens  I know I'm preaching to the choir ;)

Pit Bull

I grew up in Poplar Bluff, and had a few classmates that took the interpretation of the second ammendment to the limit. One kid had a Contender pistol under his seat at all times. I think there is nothing wrong with concealed carry, as long as the people are able to pass the training and background checks. The ones who carry keep the rest of us safe. Criminals dont like to get hurt "on the job. " Like my grandpa always said "an armed society is a polite society. " I dont think there is anything that can be done about open carry, unless you happen to be in the People's Republic of Boulder CO. The second ammentment guarantees that right.

I have seen a pimp with a CCW permit, carrying a gold plated Desert Eagle 44 Magnum. He had already hilled one person for messing with his ***** and when I got to him, he had just shown up when one of his ****** stabbed a trick. He was just sitting in his car, claiming he was just there out of coincidence. I tried everything possible to get that permit yanked but since he had been aquitted of his murder, and wasnt commiting any overt crime, nothing could be done.

I just want there to be more weeding out of people like this, and the ability to revolk their permits when they are involved in such questionable activities, for a living.

How Much Better do CHL Holders Have to Be?

Sdalton,

If CHL holders prove to be 199 times more lawful than the general population, is that good enough?

Your experience with the pimp CHL holder is far from the norm. In 2001, there were 180 total convicted offenses by CHL holders in Texas, versus 35,070 total convicted offenses overall. CHL holders were convicted in a grand total of one-half of ONE PERCENT of all the crimes in Texas. In other words, the general public was convicted of 199 times as many crimes as CHL holders were. Wonder how police officers fared as a group, compared to this?

The information below, from which the above numbers were generated, comes from the Texas Department of Public Safety website, contact info is provided at the bottom.

I know how you can get him and have some fun to boot. Screw one of his ladies and don't pay her. Sounds like he takes offense to that. This should elicit the response from him that will nullify his CCW permit and if your luck his life ;) No need to thank me just trying to help :-laf

I believe there are 38 states with "Right to Carry " permit laws on the books. The rest would prefer that you dont hurt their criminals.

Pit Bull,

Hopefully this session our Missouri legislature will be able to pass a concealed carry law and overide gov. Holden if need be. Our very own TDR member Larry Crawford sponsored the bill in the house where it passed with a wide margin.

I hope your right. Holden I understand came from my area, he does not impress me. Seems like the kind of nerd that got his brief case taken away a lot in school. Doubt he is for gun rights. Hope they have enough votes to over ride his veto.

CHLs need more scrutiny???

Sorry sdalton, but what you described was one isolated incident. I feel your statement was very pompous, and all too common among "the elite. " So I presume there have never been any LEOs that were involved in felonious wrongdoing? Well that would be great, but according to your standard, if there ever were any, perhaps we should inquire as to whether persons in your occupation should be allowed to carry a firearm.

You know I understand the Police in England don't carry guns  That would be a great job. You show up during a crime in progress and you have 3 criminals with guns and you are standing there with a night stick.
