I guess no one is familiar with this devise. Unfortunately, the NAV radio's (REC order code) do not have an Aux jack, and the first thing the auto radio venders try to sell is the FM modules were it plugs in between the radio and the antenna cable. I have refused to install this, due to the cost of such a devise that has little functionality. With the Lockpick you not only have an awesome way to use your iPhone, but you can install cameras and it unlocks the motion lockout function.

I had a Lock pick on my RER MyGig.

It was in my 06 mega cab.

Worked great.

Kids watched DVD's and movies from my Ipod on it going down the road.

Pulled nav system last night and confirmed its the REC with the proper video plug on the back. In MY 07 it could have been the earlier version, in that the video function would not work. I'm putting it on order this AM, will post picks when finished.

You will like it. Plug and play never had any trouble with it.

Take care as it makes alot to cram behind the radio.

Do you have to pull the radio to determine if it is an early one or not? I'm thinking about a backup camera but wasn't sure if my NAV supported it.

If I do have to pull it, anyone have a parts blow-up so I can see how to get the dash/radio apart and out?

Thanks!

Check link and click on the statement "Navigation radio must be reverse camera capable. " at the bottom of the link highlighted in yellow.

There is a link somewhere in the site that will link you to a utube video but I just googled it. And got the instruction from that. If you can't find something I can get it for you, just PM me.

For 07 MY there can be one of two nav systems but look alike in front. The techs told me you must remove it to see if its capable. So I did, and found it to be the REC model. I don't know for sure and I would pull it anyway, but in the lower right of the radio in very small font it's "REC"

Update

OK, here goes a long story with mixed results, finally installed one that works after the third try.

First Lockpick I installed left a nobus error message and I had little function of anything in the cab to include it would not start. Called tech support and he had me change the jumpers to different pins, after several attempts we got it to come on with no error messages, so I buttoned it up and once I turned it off it would not come back on. So he had me change the jumpers again to new positions and could not get it to come on at all any more. So after another $250. 00 (refund when they receive bad one) and another week of waiting for my new Lockpick to arrive, I take pictures of the new one to make sure the jumpers are noted for trouble shooting and to make sure the tech can verify that is where they are supposed to be.

I install it, and now it won't do anything and went through it again with the tech. He had me do the same thing as the first one was troubleshooted, except this time no radio function at all. keep in mind it takes a couple of phone calls and waiting for the tech to call me back each attempt. The last conversation I had with him was, he would call me back to confirm the return and explained there is no reason for it not to be working. Well, he never called me back and when I contacted sales and was requesting permission to return both Lockpicks, I was told that there was a message for me when I called, to let me know he was building a new older version box and to send back all items received so far which included the harnesses.

I received the new older version yesterday (3/9/12) with all of the same harnesses that was in the first box. Because I had to remove the old harness that I had customized for my install for the truck, I had to make a new one all over again. I think the tech thought that there was a problem with the old harness and just to make sure wanted me to install it with a new harness. This time I was only going to try it one time, and if it didn't work then I would demand all of my money back to include shipping costs. Well it worked, and did everything it advertised it could do. You would think that was the end of the story.

As the late Paul Harvey would say "and now the rest of the story". Now I have an Airbag trouble light coming on at random intervals and it only stays on for a few seconds. So I google a search for other possible units doing the same and found out it was an issue in the older versions, or maybe anyway. Remember I was told they were building an older version Lockpick. It could still be an issue, but there have been other problems sort of related to way it communicates with the navigation and the truck. Like when you turn on your fog lamps, the reverse camera would come on. I can live with the Airbag light, if that is all that happens. My gut tells me to remove it and request a full refund, but if that is the only issue its worth keeping.

Sorry about you rough time RVTRKN.

Have you contacted them about your airbag light kicking on yet?

Wonder if the airbag would function correctly if in a accident.

There has been so many posts on that issue from more than a couple sites, I imagine somebody would have found out the hard way. I think I will just see what happens in the next couple of weeks to see if it gets better, it has a lot of advantages if it settles down. It's just a shame that dodge couldn't have installed an aux jack on a $2400 option.
