Wow, this could change the whole face of light and medium duty trucks as we know it. Navistar owns international, one of the largest producers of medium duty trucks and makes the powerstroke engine for ford.

Better yet if Cummins bought them, then we could tell the Ford guys that Cummins owns International...

Thanks Grizzly, :{ what are you going to ask next? Is SANTA REAL? :-laf

Well, I know Santa is real. My wife and I were in the North Pole, just outside of Fairbanks, and visit with him and Mrs Claus in August of this year. We even have pictures with the Claus's. We arranged with Santa to send letters to our grandkids this Christmas from the North Pole.

Maybe the next owner of Navistar/International will build some quality into their trucks and engines so the companies and people that buy their products will not have to do their R&D thur warrenty and breakdowns along side of america's highways..... Their trucks look good but that is where the quality ends... ... trucksalesdave... ... . central Georgia

I think Ford has more problems then just their diesel engines. They are always in the shop for everything. They do make a good V-10, if you want a gasser. Their stock is down to $7. 42.

i had a friend that blew a spark plug out of a bone stock V-10 at about 10k miles ... dealer wasn't suprised at all ...

and no i've never heard of anything like that anywhere else

I think most of Navistar's issues were in the V design engines. DT466 was and still is a great motor, though oddly enough they built a DT360 back in the 80's and they did poorly, not sure why. Maybe it was a lack of R&D, but they could have stood to take a look at the 5. 9. Cummins. I think the bungle of the 6. 0 was mostly on Ford's hands, and had little to do with Navistar.

JJuday is right that DT466 is a great set up we had a brush rig with that set up ran awesome, and yes I'm sure Ford pushed to get that 6. 0 on line with out all the testing that Cummins does before they release a product.
