ND, MN, SD Get together February 19th

Got a date to have our annual winter get together again at Mike's Custom Truck in Northwood ND.



Northwood is about 60 miles north of Fargo and another 27 miles west to give you an idea of its general location. Right between ND and MN. SD you have a little drive but them many of us come from couple hundered miles or more.



Mikes Custom Trucks is a full service (all) diesel maintenance, repair, and performance shop.



The dyne fun usually starts around 10 AM or so. We try to wrap things up around 4 PM.



Cost to dyno is $50 for initial horsepower and torque reading. Additional runs are $25 each.



Need your 12V timing set? Need your KDP fixed? Please call them at 866. 280. 2587 to schedule and get an estimate. Minor or routine items are usually fit in on Saturday morning. If you're looking for items such as a SBC clutch or head O-ring then plan on starting at least by Friday.

I've been wanting to get to a TDR event somewhere for the last couple of years. Looks like I might finally get a chance. Have to make arrangements with the wife though. There is another TDR member here in town might have to see if he wants to go and do it together.

I'm not sure if I can make it..... if I do it'll be without the truck. She's still down with possibly a cracked head. I'll find out more when I get some cash saved up so when I tear it down, I'm ready to go.

If I can make it, I'd be without a truck too. I blew a head gasket a couple weeks ago, and still haven't decided if I'm going to do it myself of bring it somewhere. I have to make a few phonecalls first, but I've been too busy. I need to pm Aron to get a phone #. I dunno who else would be close... at least close that I trust. If anybody has a suggestion to a shop let me know. (I'm by Duluth) TIA Hey Josh, maybe we could take my 95 that I deliver cabinets with(Big cube box on the back)... so much snow piled on the muffler when we got dumped on the week before last that it fell off. Figured I sholud have fixed it when it broke apart after the muffler, I guess after 180k on the stock exhaust it could be replaced... ah, I've been looking for a reason to straight pipe it anyways.

I need to dyno. Have yet to see how much the 370's added. Plus with the 3k gov springs to see how strong she is at top.

Did a couple power brakes yesterday. To easy in 2nd. But can't quite do it in 3rd.

Couple kids at the school wanna know when I plan on sellin the truck? They'll have to wait a few years.

Thanks for the offer bfriskey. I appreciate it. I have the shop and most all of the tools, I dunno about all the info, but I dunno if I have the time. I don't need the truck right away, but I'm so busy with work that I don't know if it'd be better to have someone else do it or not. Also as long as it's apart I think it'll get a cam, I even thought about porting the head. An extra set of hands would be great, I just don't know when. I also don't know how long it's going to take if I do it myself, 1 weekend, 2, 3?? I'll send you a pm.

After that's taken care of, here's my saved list of stuff that needs done to my truck. :-laf Some of it would need to be done before the trip, some could be done up there, and some could be done after the trip.



- Engine Oil & Filter Need Changed

- Trans Fluid & Filter Need Changed

- 4WD Light Comes on While Driving

- Wastegate Needs to Be Replaced

- Lower Intercooler Boots Need Replaced

- Windshield Washer Reservoir Sensor Grommet Needs Sealant

- Fluid Leak Behind the Front of the PS Pump (Not Sure What Is Actually Leaking)

- Mobile Scanner Power Wire Needs to Be Traced and Repaired

- Tires Need To Be Rotated (Outside Front to Back) (Rear Inside Left to Right)

- Rear U-Joints Possibly Need Replaced

- Body Bushings Need Attn (Creaking) (Need Smaller Bolts after Nerf Bar Removal)



Honestly, I think this sounds like a heck of a trip and event if everything works out and I can make it. I really would like to dyno my truck after what i've done to it. Wish I would have more money saved up so I could have them do a couple of the above things. I would like to install a Boost Cooler as well, maybe even a bigger exhaust housing. Trying to go off of Jim Fulmer's test truck to see if I can get close to 500 HP off of the HX-35 before I maybe move on to a Hybrid.



I think this could be a heck of a good time with this crowd! What does the trip up there and back down consist of, for those who have 'dun it? Do we pull an early morning up there and an all-nighter on the way home, or... ... ... ?



I'm going to mark my name gone on the schedule at work for the three-day weekend just to be safe. We'll see how everything plays out. I know it's not a busy month, so that's good.



Anyone want to offer to keep me company, or swap driving :-laf (haven't driven that long before), if I can go? I know it's stupid to ask, just curious... ..... :-laf
