Dexron 5 is synthetic. Transfer cases run cooler than auto or stick trannies. What's the benefit of 3-4 times the money for a fluid that only splash lubricates steel?

I'm with YA on this One...Next Nov My T-Case will be getting ATF+4.. Bearings Gears, Chain need lube nothing special...IMO ATF+4 Better Lube than Dexron, I like My wallet to stay in My Pants and when I set on My desk it stays their.

Why doesn’t is just Spec ATF+4 then? Why the weird Spec?

Don't know... I can only guess.

Possibly ATF+4 is licensed under the Chrysler Spec. and it would cost BW relationship to other buyers?... I know this I do My own testing and research...Hmmm Let's See FCA spec the 3.0VM to Euro Spec MS11106, Back in early 2015 TC Diesel although recognized MS11106 as good lube , it was NOT the best lube for the engine and recommend to switch to T-6 Rotella... 1 year later FCA agree with TC Diesel.

This is from AMZ/OIL

For Transfer Case: BW 44-47....SL068

Because calling it B W fluid without listing a spec( which allows oil companies to blend their own version, just like ATF+4) virtually guarantees your going back to the dealer and paying whatever they demand.

That's also the fluid they recommend for BOTH auto trans in these trucks. Not so sure I want that in my Aisin but it does show you the fluid is nothing special enough to warrant $32 per quart. I think I'll stick withDexro.

I have a 16 and as with all my vehicles changes every fluid except brake and radiator to Amsoil and added the bigger finned ATF pan and front and rear finned diff covers at 10k (engine oil do at 3k). No problems just flawless performance so far.

ATF+4 Is license Trademark You can buy the same ATF+4 at walmart for $4.27 QT ATF+4 is all the same... regardless of the label SuperTech ATF+4 is the same lube as Mopar.ATF+4

Can you save your old oil for me..... :-laf

I was immediately skeptical of the million mile mark......because I KNEW it wasn’t possible with a Powerstroke!

Per u-tube, it is a 2006, 5.4l gasser with the ZF-6spd. There must be 2 drivers. He said 7-10k a week, that's 59.5 mph 24/7 for a 10k week:eek:
