Christmas party?

Change for ND Meeting

Guess that weekend is set. When the time comes closer, we need to decide where the meeting spot will be on the camp ground.

Has anyone who lives close to the camp site, driven by to pick out a good spot? I won't be able to make it until Saturday morning, but maybe someone could make a sign so people know. I guess I could just look for black smoke in the air!!!

I'll take a look the next cpl of days. We may be able to get reservations; don't know for sure. We did a cpl years ago.

You can call the Hayworth campground at (402)293-3142 to make reservations. If you all know how many you can ask to put you all close together. Unfortunately I will be unable to attend. I found out I have to work that weekend. Have fun and SMOKE AWAY!

I was hoping on making it as well, but the wife, dogs and I are heading out on the 17th to either Missouri or Yankton. We'll return on the 21st, afternoon.

I've never been to this camp ground, but are there grills available to use for saturday's cookout or should I bring my own? Saw the weather forcast, calling for rain but I hope not! Looking forward to meeting a lot of you.

Hey Guys: I was just over at Haworth this A. M. and made my reservation for this coming weekend. He has NO reservations for a mwtdr or iowaq/nebraska tdr as yet. He has six clubs coming in this coming weekend and 82 out 109 sites already reserved. If you are going best to call and make reservations. He will try to get us together if possible. Keep in mind this weekend is Armed Forces Day. He says if possibe the "wagonmaster" should call with reservations, but i told him that I doubted that would be possible. Is Big Mak the "wagonmaster"?

Doesn't sound like many are camping, so I hope this camp site will work for the meeting spot. I missed the last get together a few years back, but was it at the same place?

I just talked to Big Mak and bbodammer and I know they are attending. Besides them, GeneA and myself, who else will be attending? It would be nice to see a show of hands. Also, it seems like saturday will be the day to BBQ, so don't forget to bring food to grill, your own refreshments and lawn chairs.

As much as I'd like to come and meet you guys, we'll be off camping. Leave Wednesday and return Sunday sometime. I'm looking forward to meeting sometime, and will continue to monitor this board to see if another opportunity comes up anytime soon...

Yellow Ribbon Run Loren? Both me and my wife ride... and we're going to miss this run too. Guess we picked a bad week to go camping with all this other stuff going on locally...

Looks like the party will be close to GeneA. So far, he's the only one with a camp site. As long as there's grills around for people to use, we should be fine. Maybe meet in a parking lot. Just an idea. I'll be there on saturday morning and start grilling around 11:30 or noon.

chris

OK; noon for a BBQ. See ya'll then! I think just a "bring your own" so no one worry about assigning anything. We'll get together and talk/look at trucks.

What lot you get put on Gene?

Hey! Don't give up on the camping. I just talked with the guy at Haworth yesterday ( He called me asking how many would be coming). I told him I thought maybe four or five, so he said he would hold five spots together for us. You have to tell him mwtdr or iowa/nebraska tdr. That's what I told was our name. ( I'm not sure which it is now). I am going over tomorrow and set up. I will find out which site and more details. GeneA

I am set up on lot # A-1. He has reserved six sites for us A-1 thru A-6. Someone is in A-2 so there are still 4 sites available. It is $15 a day and there are electrical and water hook-ups. There are two dump stations. Hope to see a few more make it. Be sure and tell the guy you are mwtdr or iowa/nebraskatdr when you make your reservation. GeneA

I left a message for them that I wanted a spot but have not received a callback. Hopefully will see you tomorrow evening!

... update Friday:

Haven't heard anything from the campground; had to give the family a "final answer" last night ... didn't want to pull out there and have no spot so won't be camping. This campground manager seems to be not very much on the ball. First tells us no spots (I did say mwtdr) so I really wanted/needed confirmation from them that there was a spot for us. :(

We will be stopping by around noon Saturday for a picnic/BBQ -- hopefully they'll be trucks and good conversation.

See you then!
