4BT clutch

Cost to have a 4bt put in a 93 GMC

I'm in the process of swapping a 4bta into an '89 Chevy truck.

I bought an engine that came out of a Frito-lay truck. It's set up to bolt up to an automatic transmission (T-400).

I don't want to use an automatic in my swap. Instead, I want to use the NV-4500 manual.

I need to find a flywheel cover, bellhousing, and flywheel. Does anybody know where I can source these parts? Buying them new from the dealer is just too expensive! Any ideas are welcome.

Are using the GM nv-4500? if so, you can swap the input shaft to a Dodge input shaft and then go with all dodge parts to make the connection, bellhousing, flywheel, clutch, starter, etc. The 5. 9 parts will bolt right up to the 3. 9 and give you a cheap source for the parts you need. There are lots of dodge trucks in the wrecking yards to fit this bill. Only thing you'll need to modify is the hydraulic clutch line to accept the dodge slave cylinder.

If you can't find them locally, check ebay, I see the dodge parts around there alot. GM parts seem harder to locate for some reason.

If you decide to sell the GM automatic adapter and flex plate, let me know. I may have a buyer for you, he's looking for those parts to put a 5. 9 in a 1/2 ton gm pick up, I doubt the 400 will hold up to his donor motor, but thats his choice, let me know.

I'd be willing to sell the GM automatic adapter and flex plate. Send me an email at -- email address removed -- if your'e interested.

Since I haven't purchased my nv-4500 yet, I was just planning to use the Dodge version. I'm having trouble finding 5. 9 parts in the junk yards around here, so I was hoping somebody might have some other suggestions.

I have a bellhousing off a 98. 5 [nv4500] wrecked rig in the garage I'd be willing to part with. . not sure it's worth the shipping though. . make me an offer

Ah!, now that I know you do not have a transmission yet either, I can get in the right direction.

My buddy Kenny has a bunch of used parts around his shop for dodge trucks, what he doesn't have, he can get in a few days. Give him a ring. 406 727 8915 Autoworld hi low truck center, ask for Kenny and tell him david referred you that way so he knows who you are. I will try to get with him in the next few days to tell him. He can get brand new nv-4500 trannies for around $2200. 00 with warranty. He also is selling nv-5600 conversion kits now too.

I am trying to get my parts lined up myself for my 3. 9 cummins repower or I'd offer you the stack of takeoffs I have collected.

If you check ebay under ebay motors/ parts and accesories, you'll find stuff alot there. I have bought engines and whole wrecked trucks for less than the cost of a junkyard pull out motor. Good luck.

Spalding truck out of Spokane Washington has several hundred dodges on blocks weekly, do a search for them, They are very competitive even with shipping to most places in the states.

Rkohn,

Right place to look, I find lots of parts there.

Be careful, that bellhousing is for a getrag, I had 6 of them behind my garage in a scrap pile that I finally hauled off for scrap. Getrags are a dying breed, go with the nv-4500 now and save yourself the headaches later.
