hey guys i'm looking for a new turbo, i figure if i'am going to spend the money i want one of the biggest and badest turbos made. So i would love some input on what you guys think is a good turbo that can handle alot of horespower. As have any of you ever used a clutch made by spec. i found a clutch on there that can handle 1900 ft lbs that is only alittle over 900 bucks and i wanted to know if they are junk or not. thanks alot guys looking forward to hearing your input.

you and me both,

my leading contender is HTturbo - the maker of the Killer B2 - thats my poison!!

And that sounds a bit cheap for a 1900 ftlb clutch, I didn't even think that was possible in a NV5600

concider the B1-04, drop in and go. with an external W/G. to keep drive pressures in line.

I have ridden in a truck with a killer 64 and TST and wasnt to impressed with the cooling, and especially the fabrication to make it work, spooled like stock though.

As for the clutch Id look into a South Bend dual disc, they are in the $2200 dollar and up class but well worth it IMO.

There really isnt to much out there for the 500 HP and up class yet for single turbos yet, Lets just see if Keith Locklier can chime in and give us some insight.

I personally love my Killer B. I am sorry, but I find it extremely hard to believe if anyones going to make a turbo that will keep the TST box running cool.

Spec Clutch yes ive heard of them I love em I run their clutchs in my race cars they are a great company and they stand behind there product Give pete a call at 800-828-4379 tell him Zach mcvey from Logan recommend you he should remember who I am it's been a while since ive talked to him.

As far as the biggest and badest single charger I would say it's what ever ryan milby is running but the chances of finding out which one he as is probally slim to NONE but the B2 by Htturbo's is pretty bad a$$ from what I hear, Im holding out for twins.

I just checked out the spec clutch website, http://www.specclutch.com/specMain.html , and wow  , stage 5 slutch holds 1800 torq?? I bet it engages like you were rear-ended at 50 mph

I like my Killer B2 but like Mattymac said, it isn't perfect. Great turbo for towing in the 350-400 hp range but not at all the "biggest and baddest". If that's what you're after you need twins.

J. R. has a modified HX-55.

A Lil '55 would work great,, but spoolup is a bit slow, but can keep alot of fuel cool.

Might want to do a search for them.

Are you kidding? $2200 for a clutch? It might be time to swap to a really beefed up automatic!

Andy

A fully loaded 48RE costs $6000? What costs so !$#% much on a 48RE? And on that $2200 clutch, what costs so much on that? You can't tell me it's all engineering costs.

I'm just floored at how much coin diesel bombers spend.

Andy

Hey thanks alot guys for the great info, but i'm still undecided as to what to go with as far as clutch and turbo. I should just go twins :-D. what ever i do i'm going to make sure it will run circles around these little rice burners.

I have no idea what costs so much. I do know it made me a little happier that I had a stick. :D

The auto's are high because your talking $800. 00 per billet shaft and there are three of them, billet 3rd gear drum for $530. 00, tourque convertor at $965. 00. master kit, billet servo's, accumalator, front piston, custom valve body, custom labor to put it together right and alot of other small but important stuff! In the long run you'll have replace that high dollar clutch after a season with many disk changes in-between. We have been pulling alot this year and the DTT transmission in my truck has worked perfect!! I cant wait untill next year!! Oo.

John

Yeh, he also went with the billet flex plate. The only thing DTT offered that he didn't get was billet intermediate shaft.
