Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Need a head

My head is cracked so I need a new one. Where is the best place to buy? How about porting or intake manifold? I am trying to get 450-500 at the wheels without a lot of smoke. Maybe more power in the future. The truck is a daily driver and does some towing.

I bought one from PDR last year. Complete with 60# exhaust springs. Wish I had let them port it. Didn't have the extra cash at the time.

I second that on a PDR head. I have been running one for about a year now and it has held up great! It's an aftermarket casting and mine was o-ring'd, 60# springs, HD exhaust seals and pocket ported. All for a very reasonable price over getting my original machined and re-freshed. Shipping wasn't too bad either living close to BC, Canada.

Forgot to mention also, the new head is not releived at the overflow valve enough for removal. Easy to do with a burring tool, if you are careful and don't get carried away. If you go too far, you are into the intake runner and it can be patched with a good epoxy as the only pressure is the boost. Enough said about my screw up!!!!

I got one from Tri-State Cylinder Head - Chevy, Ford, Small Block, Performance, Aluminum Cylinder Heads. Gonna be hard for anyone to beat their price.
