Has anyone used AUTO WURKS DIESEL in Caldwell, NJ? They are a master dealer for South Bend Clutch.
If so what have your experiences been?

Thank you for that feedback. Chris the manager there sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
On a related topic, transmission fluid. Manual transmissions have steel gears and a soft metal, like brass, for the synchros.
So why do some manual transmissions use ATF, some use Motor Oi, some use Syncrhomesh oil, some use gear oil?
What are the design differences, in transmissions, that require these different lubricants?

The installation of the SBC is complete, Yay! Auto Wurks Diesel in Caldwell, New Jersey, did the work. I would recommend Auto Wurks Diesel to anyone and everyone! They did a great job! He did what we discussed, no surprises at the end.

On my 63 miles drive home I noticed how quiet and smooth the transmission ran and shifted. I attribute this to the new SBC system and the Mobil Delvac Synthetic 50 fluid (see the G56 fluid thread). Chris also performed a valve adjustment on the engine (it was due after 102K miles) and what a difference! The engine idles smoothly once again.

When I dropped the truck off, Chris lifted the hood to listen to the engine and a mouse ran out of the engine compartment, sat on the cowl and looked at us then disappeared under it. When they dropped the transmission to change out the clutch assembly, Chris found a mouse's nest in the bellhousing!!! There is a vent hole on the top of the bellhousing. They installed a screen to keep the rodents out.

I'm very pleased with this new clutch and very pleased with Auto Wurks Diesel.
