2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Need a size please

Can someone that has a 0-1 inch O. D. mic give me a O. D. reading from the shift lever on a automatic transmission. Out near the end, before the knob. I'm makeing a shift mounted switches for the 5 and 6 speeds, but someone wants one for an auto, and I don't know anyone that has one that I can get a size from.

The shifter rod is . 476 all the way out to about 1/2" from the knob where it increases in diameter slightly to . 479, probably just thicker paint at that point. This is a 99 truck. bg
