Need a tire

Last night someone decided to slash my RR outside on my dually. My Michelin 235/85's have maybe 10,000 miles left on them so I figure I can't just mount a brand new one next to it (Is this right?).



If I can't mount a new one next to it, does anyone in the front range area have a tire that might work?



I don't really want to buy 6 new tires on my truck but I might have to.

Put both your fronts on that side and then a new one on front. Or just do the standard rotation in the book and then put the new one on front.

Bummer on the slash dude. I would just go with two new ones on the front at the same time for drivability reasons and put one of the old front ones on the rear.



I run cooper (front and rear 235 / 85) street tires on the front and copper long / short grippers on the rear (farming in the mud and a dirt driveway; the wife loves it). I tend to really wear the grippers out on the rear before replacing, but I don't run the fronts down all that low before replacing.

that's what I did. I put Pirelli's with a 60k mi. treadlife on the front. Discount made me sign a waiver about operating my truck in 4x4 with mismatched tires. The tires are the same size 235/R16 but I guess since the front ones are new and the back ones are old, it is enough to cause a problem.



the good front one became my spare so now I have a good spare to sell. Spare was 215, tires now are 235.

I trashed a tire last summer on the front and just replaced the fron two. . Wally worlds liberators. . load rg E, pretty good tire. Front end was out of alignment and wore em a lillte funny so. . then last week I put the fronts on the inside of the duals and bought 4 new goodyears. The new tires are all season more 'road' tire the liberators are more aggressive. so the inside rear has a mud lookin tread and all the outers match. Cost almost $500 for the 4 goodyears after mounting and balancing and all.



I usually dont rotate the inners on the duals so i didn't worry about the very minimal height difference. The liberators are ever so slightly taller. . a few miles will fix that.
