5th wheel tire winch ??

Refridgerator not lighting

I am broke down in Calhoun Ga (about half way between Atlanta & Chattanooga) & am looking for a way to get a 40' Travel Supreme 5'er to central Pa. , just south of Williamsport. Be aware, this trailer weighs right at 22K the way it sits. Thanks.

Tow

Try Bennett Transport they are located in McDonough Ga and have a division that can handle any RV. It is the slow time of the year, so you should have no problem getting it done. If they don't suit you there are over a dozen RV transport companies available. R C

Does anyone know where I could rent a dually with a 5th wheel? I'd even settle for a brand F or C at this point, I really need to get this thing home before the holidays. Thanks.

Haven't you tried the major players ..... Bennett, Hoosier, Horizon, something that big though is going to require a healthy truck though. If you were out this way, I'd be more then happy to help you out!

Yea, I've looked in that direction, but it the $1500 to $2000 they want would sure go a long ways towards the $12,000 engine I need...

A guy I haul for locally here just picked up a CR for like $6k ... found it somewhere on line. . no , not ebay, was up in Idaho or Montana somewhere. As for the hauling prices, I'll refrain from further comment. :(

OK, before this gets to be an issue, I am not refering to the cost per mile as much as the total, because of the distance I am looking at. We all know these things aren't cheap to operate per mile. I know what it cost to run one of our beloved CTD's @ 30K GCW, it ain't cheap.

Minus the breakdowns, just the CTD aspect comes out way cheap... thats why I run a Cummins... its the insurance($600 amonth), IFTA, tag@$910 for a year, permits and such that kill me.

LEPage,

There are several, possibly many TDR members who are RV transporters and Hot Shot Haulers and frequent these pages. Many of them would take your trailer home for you. I don't mean to be unkind here but you can't realistically expect anyone to deadhead hundreds of miles, possibly 1000 miles or more to pick up your trailer, subject their own equipment to the strain and wear and tear of pulling an overloaded 22k # Travel Supreme in the hills, and haul your trailer 1000 miles or more, then deadhead back to their own homes or pickup point for their next load just because you are a fellow TDR member or a nice guy. A relative or personal friend of longstanding might do it but RV transporters are trying to earn a little money before they wear out their trucks. Most are not into charity hauls.

I understand your situation and wish you well.

Thanks Harv, First and foremost I am not a nice guy. I was not looking for charity. Nor was I expecting someone to bobtail (I belive deadhead would be pulling a empty trailer) 1000's of miles to help my sorry butt. I was only trying to get feedback & see what was out there, and guess what I found... A commercial hauler from Birmingham that will bring one bobtail truck & one deadhead with a 38' gooseneck to take both truck & trailer for $2. 00 loaded mile combined! Call it what you want, I'm calling it getting my junk home for a fair price. So. . if you ever find yourself in a bind, give me a call & I'll either help you myself or give you this fellows charity number.

LEPage,

Again, I didn't mean to be ugly or insulting. I simply meant to explain that no TDR member was likely to volunteer because you had already said that the going rate waas more than you would pay. I probably should have used the word discounted instead of charity. You stated in a previous post that you weren't willing to pay $1500-$2000 for the tow. Yes, that is a significant charge but that is what any transport company would charge and any RV transporter would get about 80% after his company took their part off the top. Bobtailing for an RV transporter is running unloaded ie unpaid miles. I hope you get your rig home safely.
