hey there the truck is down, looking for a shop between athens and chadanooga, yea i know i did not spell it right. i am up in spring city, tn. OD is slipping alot..... fluid is not burnt. diesel shop prefered thanks... ...

Snuff sounds like the overdrive clutch.



From 96 FSM 47re trans.

1. fluid level low.

2. Overdrive clutch pack worn.

3. overdrive piston retainer bleed orfice blown out.

4. Overdrive piston or seal malafunction.

5. 3-4 shiftr valve,timing valve or accumulator malfunction.

6. Overdrive unit thrust bearing failure.

7. O/D check valve/bleed orfice failure.



This company works on diesel pumps... but I doubt they work on trans but they mite know who does.





Also you can E-Mail Jim Anderson (TDR writer) -- email address removed -- I believe he lives in that area duing the summer time. He should know where a diesel/trans shop is.

Snuff how did you make out? You could make it back in third gear but it would use more fuel.
