Installed gauges this weekend, and the plastic ring with the wire terminals in it broke off of my tweater when putting it back in the speaker cover. Is my best bet the dealer? or does anyone make aftermarket ones that would be cheaper
I'm looking for this same said tweeter. Does anybody have one lying around upon an upgrade they would be willing to sell? If not, I guess I'll be throwing my money to the online mopar wolves...
I had the same tweeter go out on my old truck. Went to the local car stereo place and they replaced it with a $20 set that could handle 300 watts. I believe they attached it to the old plastic piece (i. e. could not tell it was not the factory one). I believe labor and all I paid $40 and it sounded 10x better than the factory one had. Don't waste money on the mopar replacement.
That is an option. I'm currently in hoe-dunk alabama and haven't seen any car radio places. I'll start looking if I can't find an OEM one at a decent price!
You could probably call one(stereo shop) or find a stereo place online. Just be sure to tell them what it's for and have the old tweeter on hand when you call. I'm pretty sure the Mopar tweeter is 2ohm and most aftermarket tweeters are 4ohm. If you install a 4ohm tweeter, you'll have to turn the volume knob twice as far to hear it.
