I have an 01 2500 4x4, QC, with An Auto transmission. I notice the rear end of the truck sits about 2" higher than the front. I'd like to level it out so it doesnt look so weird. Is there a simple, easy way to level these trucks? Why do they do that? Any thoght or ideas? I cant be the only one who thinks it looks weird. Am I?

Thanks,

Billy Ray

<font color=blue>Do you pull a trailer that you need to lower the rear end? If not I would suggest getting a 2" leveling kit for the front end. Just my opinion... . dunno why on earth ya would wanna lower a truck unless you had to for a trailer #ad

I am debating taking out my overload springs but I don't wanna "lower" the truck when I do sooo just gonna have to wait for my lift kit I suppose. But still recovering from BOMB'ing the engine.

Also answered your gauge thread. . go have a look. <font size=-2>

Pictures & Plans to Lower Ram 4x4 QC

I lowered mine because it sticks up too high in the rear end while pulling my 5th wheel trailer. It is still higher in the rear than the front.

From floor to center of front fender wheel well = 39-3/4"

From floor to center of rear fender wheel well = 41-1/4"

From floor to top of rear bed corner = 55"

Bennettj,
Nice job on the post (pictures and drawings save thousands of words for sure) and good solution to the back end being higher then the front!

I used the 2" coil spacers from Daystar. They work good, and are not too expensive.

Rear end lowering

Tell mee more about lowering rear end on your truck, I tried looking at the pics but photopoint went belly-up. I want to lower a 3500 4x4 because of the 5th wheel camper problem.

Billy Ray,

There is a TSB for lowering the rear end. From what I've read here on the boards, some folks have been successful in getting the TSB kit install at no cost, provided the truck is still under warranty.

I lowered mine with some homemade spacer blocks. Search the archives - a guy called JumboJet posted some excellent sketches/photos of some homemade spacer blocks for the rear. I made mine per his specs, and have been very pleased (I did not know about the TSB at the time, or I would have tried that route first).

I like the way the truck looks, and prefer this option to raising the front. It is waaay easier loading heavy cargo with the lower bed, and the truck does still sit a little higher in the rear.

Lower rear end

Had Mor/Ryde in stalled on our 3500. It is adjustable, it inproved the ride all around, plus the ram rides level . Your nickel you only go round once:) :) :D

Lowering a 95

I tried to buy just the shorter blocks. Dealer said they were on nation wide back order. Made my own block out of a farm tractor draw bar. U bolts came from Inland Truck Parts. I think newer Dodge pickups need another linkage of some sort. If you can't find the blocks let me know. Still have some material left! 3" wide x2" thick. I cut block 5" long. It is rather heavy for shipping. Block only at dealer were quoted to me @ $70 per pair. They may be available now. 05019238AA right spacer 05019239AA left spacer One dealer said these #'s were not in their computer, another found it right away. I can tell you right now if I could buy these for $70 I would not try to make them. U bolts were $32 at my door! jps
