Ive been repressed

A freind with a tree service has a 1989 F350 with a 7. 3L in it. He wants me to help him change injectors. I have tools and common sense. Is that enough to muddle through it or is there something I should look out for.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Garrett

It is pretty simple. The hardest part for me was lossening the lines on the pump. Make sure the engine is clean and dry. A rolling head prybar will help pull them out after the threads clear the hole. Will probably need to replace the o-rings on the fuel return fittings on the nozzle. Check the return lines that run between the nozzles and the line that goes between the 2 heads. Mine were hard and driied out. Cracked when they were pulled off. Put anti-seize on the nozzle threads before installing them.

Thanks for the reply......

But we're already finished. As far as clean, we did our best but there's 1/4" of gunk over the whole engine. The return lines were brittle, but seemed to have survived the whole ordeal. The new injectors came with O-rings so we were OK there. The only return line that was leaking was from the pump back to the tank. Glad I had some extra line from my pusher pump install.

Thanks again,

Garrett
